Danganronpa Tetro Ultra Violet Chapter 1: Part 21
[Gooood Morning, Everyone! I]
[Day 2, Dining Hall, 6:05]
โSo what even happened to Akiba, Hayashi, and Hama?โ Kamimura asked. โDid anyone see them after we got kicked out of the auditorium?โ
โI can't speak for the other two, but I ran into Hama last night.โ Nakamigawa replied, taking a seat across from Kamimura. โHe said the beds and desks are fixed to the ground. We aren't going to be able to stack them.โ
โSasakiโs not going to be happy with that.โ Hasegawa said dourly.
โWhat do you want to bet sheโs already awake and in the gym?โ
โNo bet, gymโs closed until seven, remember?โ Akiba interrupted, strolling past with two plates. โMorninโ.โ
โWhat happened to you last night?โ Kamimura asked.
โBefore or after the room stuff? Tried to look in the storage room for something that might help. Given the furniture sitch. I might be able to rip it out of the floor if I tryโโ
โDo not.โ Nakamigawa warned. โSasaki probably already knows about the beds, anyway. Seems like something she would have checked as soon as she got back to her room.โ
โWell, she's pretty observant.โ
โIโm just sayinโ, I could probably move themโitโd break the floor, butโฆโ
โItโs not worth risking.โ Kamimura insisted.
โAnd this,โ Akiba holds up his plates. โis what I did after.โ
โYou made yourself a snack.โ
โI made myself dinner.โ Akiba corrected, before letting himself into the kitchen.
Ikeda entered the room with Okazaki nearly on his heels. He startled at the small chorus of morning greetings they both got. Weird, but Nakamigawa graciously invited them to sit with them; โWe were just talking about the vent again.โ
โEh..l think the whole vent idea might be a little bit ambitious.โ Okazaki said, sitting next to Hasegawa.
โBetter than doing nothing.โ Ikeda chimed in.
โThe ladder's our best bet, but no way it goes all the way up.โ Kamimura countered.
Akiba returns from the kitchen, โTei kicked me out. Still talking about the vent?โ
โNoooo,โ Ikeda drawled sarcastically. โWeโre talking about lying down and dying.โ
โTei was right, you ARE annoying.โ
Ignoring Akiba, Ikeda turned back to the others; โWhat about what Ojima was saying yesterday? We could find a rope.โ
โWe didnโt see any ropes.โ
โItโs a good start,โ Nakamigawa says, wheels turning. โWe use the ladder to get as high as we can, then we switch to that whole idea with the rope. Throw the rope up there into the rafters, use it to climb, voila. We're at the vent.โ
โBetter than the whole tower-of-beds plan.โ
โI think it's doable, but...โ
โWe donโt have any ropes.โ Akiba repeated.
โIt doesnโt have to be literal rope, you moron.โ Ikeda snapped. โWe could use those track suits or something.โ
โOr the bedsheets.โ Nakamigawa grinned smugly at Ikeda, who rolled his eyes in turn.
Hasegawa interrupted before Ikeda could get going; โB-But the vent is so high off the ground. Falling from that high could have serious consequences.โ
โCan you die from that height?โ
โYou can die from any height if you land the wrong way.โ
โGreat.โ Ikeda snarked. โIs that all you got?โ
โWhat crawled up your ass and died?โ
โAw, you mad?โ
โThe fuck?โ
โK-Kazutoshiโฆโ
โCitizens of the dining room! We have arrived!โ Tsuno announced, Ogura in tow behind her. A welcome distraction from the two short boys potentially verbally attacking each other. For everyone else.
Nakamigawa was a little disappointed. It would have been funny.
โLook upon your goddess and WEEP!โ The smaller of the two shrieked, causing Nakamigawa to wince and Kamimura to drop his head into his arms with a groan.
โGood morning Tsuno.โ Okazaki greeted sweetly.
โHas anybody started on breakfast yet?โ
Akiba answered the hero; โTei, yeah. Kicked me out, though. Said I was being โdistracting.โโ
โBy himself?โ Tsuno frowned lightly. โThat wonโt do! Iโm going to go help him.โ She strode over to the kitchen as Ogura sat next to Akiba. โNever fear! Tsuno Manami is here to help feed the masses!โ
Nakamigawa catches the sound of Teiโs voice responding, but the response itself got lost in the door closing. Kamimura, Ogura, and Okazaki talk about Tsunoโs energy and disposition while he waits to see if Tei kicks her out of the kitchen.
He never does. Good. It would suck if their breakfast sucked because he wouldnโt let anyone help him.
Harada popped in to a received flirtatious greeting from Okazakiโhow many people in this school was she interested in, anyway?! Good recovery on Tiger Boyโs part though. No acknowledgment at all.
โIs anyone else awake yet?โ Harada asks.
โNot sure,โ Akiba answers, cutting off Okazaki before she could and giving Harada a look. โNot everyone whoโs awake left their rooms yet.โ
Harada flushed, โI had to take a shower.โ
โIโm not judging.โ The archer promises. โYour back still bothering youโ?โ
Unknowingly interrupting Akiba, Yaitabashi poked his head into the room, flower crown tilting slightly with the movement. He greeted everyone and received his due โgood morningsโ in turn before he turned on Kamimura; โDid you just never come back last night?โ
โBeen here all night, yeah.โ
โWhy? I-I mean; wasnโt that a bad idea?โ
โYou look sick.โ Nakamigawa helpfully pointed out. Yaitabashi and Hasegawa immediately frowned in response.
โUm- Yeah, are-are you okay? You're looking a little rough.โ
โSick of Ikedaโs shit, maybe.โ He groused before dropping his expression a little. Maybe he should go back to sleep or something? โI'm fine. I just need to put my head down for a bit.โ Kamimura returned his head to his arm cushion, blue hair spilling over his arms onto the table.
Hiroaki didnโt dye his hair himself, but he could admire when others did. If only Kamimura put as much effort in his clothes as his hair. Seriously, he couldโ
Takeshi walked into the room, his hair still a bit damp from his own shower. Nakamigawa felt his face smile a little too quickly and speaks over Ikedaโs own good morning to Takeshi with his own. Putting extra emphasis on his name and watching the shorter boy scowl.
โLooks like everyone's up pretty early.โ Takeshi observes.
โIf the rabbit isnโt lying about what time it is.โ Ikeda responded.
โGood point. I guess there's no real sunlight to keep track of.โ
If he had his phone, he could just CHECK. Then again, a LOT of things would be solved if he had his phone. Calling the police, some lawyers, Seikoโฆ.
Takeshi placed a hand on the back of Nakamigawaโs chairโnot the boxing in kind, but the kind where youโre standing near someone not directly behind them. YES, he needed to make that distinction, GOD. โSomething smells good.โ
โTei and Tsuno are making breakfast.โ The oh-so-boring nerd oh-so-helpfully informed him.
โโฆfor everyone?โ Takeshi said, frowning. โThatโs not fair. Thereโs over thirty of us. Iโll go help.โ
โGood luck.โ Akiba told him. โTei kicked me out earlier.โ
โIโm surprised he let Tsuno stay.โ
โMaybe he likes her or something.โ Ikeda sniped. โMaybe theyโreโโ
โBLASPHEMY! Our noble heroine would neverโโ
โIkeda, just because youโre jealousโ
โEW, WHATโโ
โGuys, this is a littleโโ
โWho even caresโโ
โI CARE!!โ
โHasegawa, Iโm going back to myโโ
โO-Oh, okay. Stay saโโ
โSend my regards~!โ Nakamigawa called after Takeshi, who gave him a brief wave as he disappeared into the kitchen.
