Danganronpa Tetro Ultra Violet Chapter 1: Part 21
[Gooood Morning, Everyone! I]
[Day 2, Dining Hall, 6:05]
âSo what even happened to Akiba, Hayashi, and Hama?â Kamimura asked. âDid anyone see them after we got kicked out of the auditorium?â
âI can't speak for the other two, but I ran into Hama last night.â Nakamigawa replied, taking a seat across from Kamimura. âHe said the beds and desks are fixed to the ground. We aren't going to be able to stack them.â
âSasakiâs not going to be happy with that.â Hasegawa said dourly.
âWhat do you want to bet sheâs already awake and in the gym?â
âNo bet, gymâs closed until seven, remember?â Akiba interrupted, strolling past with two plates. âMorninâ.â
âWhat happened to you last night?â Kamimura asked.
âBefore or after the room stuff? Tried to look in the storage room for something that might help. Given the furniture sitch. I might be able to rip it out of the floor if I tryââ
âDo not.â Nakamigawa warned. âSasaki probably already knows about the beds, anyway. Seems like something she would have checked as soon as she got back to her room.â
âWell, she's pretty observant.â
âIâm just sayinâ, I could probably move themâitâd break the floor, butâŚâ
âItâs not worth risking.â Kamimura insisted.
âAnd this,â Akiba holds up his plates. âis what I did after.â
âYou made yourself a snack.â
âI made myself dinner.â Akiba corrected, before letting himself into the kitchen.
Ikeda entered the room with Okazaki nearly on his heels. He startled at the small chorus of morning greetings they both got. Weird, but Nakamigawa graciously invited them to sit with them; âWe were just talking about the vent again.â
âEh..l think the whole vent idea might be a little bit ambitious.â Okazaki said, sitting next to Hasegawa.
âBetter than doing nothing.â Ikeda chimed in.
âThe ladder's our best bet, but no way it goes all the way up.â Kamimura countered.
Akiba returns from the kitchen, âTei kicked me out. Still talking about the vent?â
âNoooo,â Ikeda drawled sarcastically. âWeâre talking about lying down and dying.â
âTei was right, you ARE annoying.â
Ignoring Akiba, Ikeda turned back to the others; âWhat about what Ojima was saying yesterday? We could find a rope.â
âWe didnât see any ropes.â
âItâs a good start,â Nakamigawa says, wheels turning. âWe use the ladder to get as high as we can, then we switch to that whole idea with the rope. Throw the rope up there into the rafters, use it to climb, voila. We're at the vent.â
âBetter than the whole tower-of-beds plan.â
âI think it's doable, but...â
âWe donât have any ropes.â Akiba repeated.
âIt doesnât have to be literal rope, you moron.â Ikeda snapped. âWe could use those track suits or something.â
âOr the bedsheets.â Nakamigawa grinned smugly at Ikeda, who rolled his eyes in turn.
Hasegawa interrupted before Ikeda could get going; âB-But the vent is so high off the ground. Falling from that high could have serious consequences.â
âCan you die from that height?â
âYou can die from any height if you land the wrong way.â
âGreat.â Ikeda snarked. âIs that all you got?â
âWhat crawled up your ass and died?â
âAw, you mad?â
âThe fuck?â
âK-KazutoshiâŚâ
âCitizens of the dining room! We have arrived!â Tsuno announced, Ogura in tow behind her. A welcome distraction from the two short boys potentially verbally attacking each other. For everyone else.
Nakamigawa was a little disappointed. It would have been funny.
âLook upon your goddess and WEEP!â The smaller of the two shrieked, causing Nakamigawa to wince and Kamimura to drop his head into his arms with a groan.
âGood morning Tsuno.â Okazaki greeted sweetly.
âHas anybody started on breakfast yet?â
Akiba answered the hero; âTei, yeah. Kicked me out, though. Said I was being âdistracting.ââ
âBy himself?â Tsuno frowned lightly. âThat wonât do! Iâm going to go help him.â She strode over to the kitchen as Ogura sat next to Akiba. âNever fear! Tsuno Manami is here to help feed the masses!â
Nakamigawa catches the sound of Teiâs voice responding, but the response itself got lost in the door closing. Kamimura, Ogura, and Okazaki talk about Tsunoâs energy and disposition while he waits to see if Tei kicks her out of the kitchen.
He never does. Good. It would suck if their breakfast sucked because he wouldnât let anyone help him.
Harada popped in to a received flirtatious greeting from Okazakiâhow many people in this school was she interested in, anyway?! Good recovery on Tiger Boyâs part though. No acknowledgment at all.
âIs anyone else awake yet?â Harada asks.
âNot sure,â Akiba answers, cutting off Okazaki before she could and giving Harada a look. âNot everyone whoâs awake left their rooms yet.â
Harada flushed, âI had to take a shower.â
âIâm not judging.â The archer promises. âYour back still bothering youâ?â
Unknowingly interrupting Akiba, Yaitabashi poked his head into the room, flower crown tilting slightly with the movement. He greeted everyone and received his due âgood morningsâ in turn before he turned on Kamimura; âDid you just never come back last night?â
âBeen here all night, yeah.â
âWhy? I-I mean; wasnât that a bad idea?â
âYou look sick.â Nakamigawa helpfully pointed out. Yaitabashi and Hasegawa immediately frowned in response.
âUm- Yeah, are-are you okay? You're looking a little rough.â
âSick of Ikedaâs shit, maybe.â He groused before dropping his expression a little. Maybe he should go back to sleep or something? âI'm fine. I just need to put my head down for a bit.â Kamimura returned his head to his arm cushion, blue hair spilling over his arms onto the table.
Hiroaki didnât dye his hair himself, but he could admire when others did. If only Kamimura put as much effort in his clothes as his hair. Seriously, he couldâ
Takeshi walked into the room, his hair still a bit damp from his own shower. Nakamigawa felt his face smile a little too quickly and speaks over Ikedaâs own good morning to Takeshi with his own. Putting extra emphasis on his name and watching the shorter boy scowl.
âLooks like everyone's up pretty early.â Takeshi observes.
âIf the rabbit isnât lying about what time it is.â Ikeda responded.
âGood point. I guess there's no real sunlight to keep track of.â
If he had his phone, he could just CHECK. Then again, a LOT of things would be solved if he had his phone. Calling the police, some lawyers, SeikoâŚ.
Takeshi placed a hand on the back of Nakamigawaâs chairânot the boxing in kind, but the kind where youâre standing near someone not directly behind them. YES, he needed to make that distinction, GOD. âSomething smells good.â
âTei and Tsuno are making breakfast.â The oh-so-boring nerd oh-so-helpfully informed him.
ââŚfor everyone?â Takeshi said, frowning. âThatâs not fair. Thereâs over thirty of us. Iâll go help.â
âGood luck.â Akiba told him. âTei kicked me out earlier.â
âIâm surprised he let Tsuno stay.â
âMaybe he likes her or something.â Ikeda sniped. âMaybe theyâreââ
âBLASPHEMY! Our noble heroine would neverââ
âIkeda, just because youâre jealousâ
âEW, WHATââ
âGuys, this is a littleââ
âWho even caresââ
âI CARE!!â
âHasegawa, Iâm going back to myââ
âO-Oh, okay. Stay saââ
âSend my regards~!â Nakamigawa called after Takeshi, who gave him a brief wave as he disappeared into the kitchen.
