How to do transparencies on GIMP
So here is a tutorial about how do i make my transparencies on gimp!!Â
Let's start~~
but first of all:
*I didn't make this transparency perfect because im lazy
**Sorry!! my gimp is in spanish
***This is my first tutorial ever and im not an expert!!! this is just how i do it and this is it what works for meÂ
also some rules:
-Please dont steal artwork and make a transparencie out of it, ask the artist from permision , check this post
-Just stick with permmited art, official art from anime/manga, manga chapters and that stuff okay?Â
1. Open gimp and at the window that show up you're gonna put this preferences
[ALWAYS CHECK THAT THE FILL WITH IS IN TRANSPARENT]
It's gonna look like this ~~
2.Open the windows that you're going to use! [totally optional]Â
[I use the ones that are marked with red arrows]
Then you're going to open or drag the image that you're going to use.
This is how it should look like with the windows that you choose and the image open! ~~~
3. This is very important!!! layer>transparency>add to alfa channel
4. Now on your tool box, pick the lasso toolÂ
5.Now you can start with the contour, and that stuff
OPTIONAL:
Sometimes you fuck up the contouring , but what i ussually do to avoid losing all my work is doing the contouring in parts;
Now what you're going to do is edit>clean
Now it should look like this ~~
6.Repet step 5 until you finish
7. When you finish with all the contour cleaning stuff it should look like this~~
*This is a bad example im a very lazy
8. Now  you're done!! congratulations, now you need to save your work, archive>export
And this are my preferences
Aaaanddd that it's !!! Very simple ^^ GOOD LUCKÂ
