Andromeda “mother of thy household” of Mycenae would gush over her children every chance she gets, she wouldn’t mention having 7 children, only naming two and then hardly talk about them, even in her internal thoughts.

It actually really bothers me that Andromeda’s relationship with her children is hardly explored, the only ones who even get their names mentioned are Perses and Gorgophone and we only see their relationship with their mother when they were small children. Andromeda worries that Perses is too much of a softie to be sent to Aethiopia but that plot point is never resolved, Gorgophone reminds her mother of Cassiopeia but we never see her grow up or be guided by Andromeda. Where are Electryon and Sthenelus? What happened with Mestor and his daughter? What of Alcaeus Heleus and Cynurus up to? What’s the point of having a cyclops with Autochthe’s name without introducing the actual Autochthe?
