I’ve never seen Xavier portrayed so well. He can be sweet but that man can be cold and mean. Especially when he’s trying to draw the line of being distant to protect. It was so cool to see that explored in your fic, where we see them as partners, which is very sacred to Xavier!

Reading the fic I was thinking, “this is Xavier and MC!”Her headstrong and wanting to prove herself, and Xavier needing to keep her safe but unable to have her close is such a paradox that creates a beautiful recipe of yearning and angst!

In Lads we always see them dancing around each other, not communicating their real feelings, it was fun to see them bang it out here lol.

Also! Loved how you showed Xavier is Grade A freak. He’s cool and collected. Would he know MC is touching herself but wouldn’t act on it for the sake of his self imposed duty and boundaries? Yes. Would he also start rubbing one out though???? Also yes.

the fic was actually commissioned by a very good friend of mine, and her enthusiastic yapping in my dms for MONTHS about winchester!xavier got the idea so deeply lodged in my brain that i became hooked on it too hdsgbh

i've also been obsessed with Supernatural for years myself, sooo getting to combine that world with xavmc scratched such a specific itch in my brain arrghhh. i had SO much fun writing that AU & i do believe it fits them so soo good

and yes, exactly!! xavier can be incredibly sweet and gentle, but that doesn't erase how cold or even cruel he can become when he convinces himself that distance is the only way to protect someone, especially because being his partner could never be something casual yknow? it means trust and allowing someone to stand beside him in danger, so ofc he wants her close while simultaneously believing he has to push her away to keep her safe, but she's far too stubborn to let him make that choice for her. i think that's what i mostly wanted to show in this fic tbh

their entire dynamic becomes this painful little paradox of "stay with me" and "get away from me before i lose you," which is just perfect for yearning and angst tbh😭

imo xavier is the master of looking calm and restrained while secretly being the least normal man alive (just look at his in-game content raahhhh). would he refuse to touch her because of his precious self-imposed boundaries? yes. would he know exactly what she's doing and start touching himself anyway? unfortunately—and fortunately for all of us—also YES. that man is a FREAK bruh, you bet he's gonna jerk one off while she's a wall apart LMAOOO
