There’s so much potential! And while Devastation, FOC and WFC deserve remasters for access , exposure to new audiences , online play and glitch / visual improvements I think it overdominates discussion on transformers video games when “what would you like” are just suggestions for remasters

And more games in those styles as direct or spiritual successors would be great! But that goes without saying - so here are some other genres I think would suit transformers that aren’t discussed as much that I don’t believe have been explored

MMO: apparently there was one in production that got canned! A shame some of those games that missed the boat like this and the 40k one in early 2010s where the last major long lived MMOs were being produced, could’ve locked in good. But I think the fun is pretty clear - build your own custom OC, choose your faction and go on adventures! I think a SWTOR esque faction split and story campaigns for some archetypes would be great - but even without that, a standard MMO would be fun, and building different compositions of subgroups and archetypes to gear up and hit your enemy, plus rolling around and exploring. It’d be a lot of fun! So so many OCs rolling around! Have a tracking tug of war between factions , it’d be a lot of fun! Maybe to get into some wild mechanics … maybe have an event where Optimus dies and the top player can become prime until they die and becomes open again? Like emperor in ESO

RTS: I think an RTS would really shine, likely set during the war for cyberton. I mean, it really clicks - you have your bases, resource spots of energon deposits, specific types of alt modes for squads , hero bots - I think a strong RTS with a cool campaign could be a cult classic, using alt modes and subgroups to really distinguish itself, plus fun of commanding larger battalions of transformers

Hero shooter: An overwatch clone would be a lot of fun! Casual pumped vibrant action, team play and dynamics, cute characters and tons of mobility. Basically marvel rivals upcoming with a transformers gimmick lol.

Tactics RPG: I think a smaller scale tactics rpg would be strong too, focusing one a tighter stronger group of characters than an RTS - regularly commanding named bots. I’m thinking aping midnight suns - basically you have your missions, then downtime when you can socialize and explore. The bots unique abilities and alt modes would pair well with unique team builds and strategies - and a lot of juicy references, characterization and lore a self indulgent rpg can dive into! Make a human OC to be the companion to transformers? Maybe be a headmaster as to be involved into the combat?

But these are some fun ideas I had - and ofc games following up on devastation and cybertron duology would be obvious core needs and strong ones - oh , and some game giving beast wars a bit more love
