You know, a lot of people complain about Prime and Rescue Bots being in the same continuity but I personally find it hysterical. Like yes, the Autobots have four very capable bots that could make a notable difference in the war effort, but they can’t leave this one specific island because if they look away for more than five minutes it’ll explode, sink, or do both while traveling back in time and it’s a miracle it was still around by the time they got there

TFP might be flawed but it will always have my heart.
I literally can not put into words how important this show is to me. Sure, some of the storylines and themes (and occasionally characterization) were not well written (looks at parts of s2 and s3), but the show has great ideas and heart. I love how mature it was and how it did not shy away from showing the pain of the war on its characters. I love how these characters rose from their pain to become better versions of themselves; how the victories were earned and how we, the audience, cheered when they happened. I love how Optimus was always committed his ideals, especially to the idea of change- that everyone was capable of it. How, despite all the struggles and loss of hope, he was right in the end. The story itself was wrapped in such a satisfying way- the Predacons Rising movie was flawed but the ending… I will defend with my entire soul that the ending of TFP is ONE of the BEST conclusions to a Transformers story in the entire franchise.
This was the second Transformers show I watched and is why I became a Transformers fan. I started watching this show during one of the worst periods of my life and it’s one of my comfort shows. I was in freshman year in college, lonely and depressed from being far away from home and trying to adjust to a new life during the pandemic. Ridiculous as it is, the show gave me hope, to continue fighting, that things will get better.
I might be overly emotional, but hearing the TFP theme in TFO made me tear up. Everytime I hear the part of the TFP letimotif in the movie theme, I think about the show and how it helped me. I think about the impact it has and will continue to have on the entire franchise and a generation of fans.
So, TFP will always have a part of my heart.

literally rewatching Rescue Bots and Prime and taking notes for the sole purpose of writing accurate fanfic.
i'm still gonna fuck around with the story, but i need my gay robots to be written relatively well into the story.
while also rewriting some characters (Arcee deserved an arc where she finally got some sort of grip on her grief and didn't have a romantic dynamic with a 16 year old. my anti-Arcee propaganda for TFP is literally because the story wrote her to be a POS. it's weird!!) (also Breakdown and Dreadwing live yippee)
also i will not be watching RiD2015 or Rescue Bots Academy and you cannot convince me to do so otherwise (hate middle-aged trying-to-be-hip-with-the-kids Bumblebee and hate the art style change of the Rescue Bots)
