would you mind explaining the james charles thing i tried watching tati's video but i was confused since i've been following none of this and don't really have. 40 minutes to spend on it lmao but i'm thirsty for the drama
honestly there’s probably lots of people on twitter who could explain it better than me? because i’ll admit i don’t often keep up with him either (i’m rarely in the mood to keep up with someone who pisses me off and i don’t enjoy hate watching because why should i ever give him views?)
but from what i’ve gathered, tati basically made james’ career, and she recently started a sleep aid vitamin company, and he never mentioned her sleep promoting vitamins on his channel - though she stressed she never asked that of him - (and that she had him guest on her channel when she had the bigger channel, but he never returned the favor until it was beneficial for him - typical superficial stuff, whatever). but then he went and signed some promo deal with a competing sleep aid vitamin company - giving some bullshit story about them saving his ass at coachella - and she was upset at what she felt was him kinda backstabbing her so she ranted on insta, he and his friends got pissed and one of his friends made a video about her, etc etc etc, typical youtube drama.
she said something about him being predatory with straight guys and generally creepy when it comes to respecting others’ boundaries - something like, when he wants a guy it doesnt matter if they’re straight, because he’s famous - which is the part most of the people /i/ know have talked about most but idk if that’s the part that’s getting the most traction in general.
honestly idk why this drama is hitting him so much harder than past stuff, because i feel like he’s been exposed for worse things - or just blatantly said worse things - in the past? somebody who cares more about the beauty guru community in general might be able to explain why this particular fight is hurting his subscriber count more than others.
oh and i guess he made some super fake sounding apology video but i havent watched that so idk
i cant say i care much about the specifics of this drama because i’d ultimately just love to see him go away forever even if i’m not optimistic about that happening
