I have three avenues of thought that I’m going down right now—one: specifically, it’s a Ruby Tuesday, and that means fire/incins. Given the motif of Red Winter and the fact that RK comes with frost, I wonder if maybe someone will start to develop opposing powers, or maybe even fire will happen on its own—perhaps because of a van malfunction?

Two: Debt. Resurrection comes at a cost, and RK/Ren are probably (?) not supposed to be alive?? Maybe?? And this will have—consequences?? Possibly burning ones?? Idk????

Um, and then the third avenue is just me thinking about the players that got hit and were Unstable, then later incinerated. They were, in a sense, just playing the game, innocent. And then I’m just thinking about how we haven’t heard too much from Renbob recently.

okay so. the fun thing about half the blaseball references in this fic is they were originally unplanned. i made a comment about Number 14 being a ren song and then realized that the chapter we were going to write ren returning in was in fact chapter 14. similarly, i realized maybe 3 days ago that this chapter -- 21, Boiling Point -- was going to go up on a tuesday and predictably i lost my mind at fluffy, who knows approximately nothing about blaseball

that said. one of those theories is mostly correct, and another is halfway correct.
