Robin monthly meeting log #73897
Duke: All we’re saying is that if too many people make lame jokes on patrol, we’ll be known as the team that makes lame jokes instead of the team that is the N i g h t.
Damian: And none of you plebs are as funny as you seem to think.
Dick: I understand your confusion, but we’re not making jokes. Jokes are stand-alone short-form humor. What I do is banter, which is a back and forth form of humor which relies of timing and balance, which reflects my identity.
Steph: Yeah, and I do comedic narration, which conveys information about what I’m doing to the rest of the team via the comms in a fun, approachable way.
Jason: And I don’t joke, I do dramatic irony, often hilariously macabre, because I died and shit and also coz I’m erudite and shit.
Tim: And I do sarcastic comments, where the humor is the lack of humor.
Dick: There you go, guys. Humor is a very serious discipline with a long, rich history and many different traditions with their own unique permutations.
Duke: Well... okay, yeah, when you put it like that, I guess I could be the guy who points out the weirdness of all the shit that happens around here.
Dick: That’s a totally valid form of humor bro that’s great.
Damian: Goddammit this is why the Joker is obsessed with this family.
