Oh i love reminders that nature is so present even within cities. i've taken to putting out the merlin bird id app on my phone every single morning whilst i eat breakfast to listen to the birds in my garden. i live in a big city, and the most plant life in my garden is a large bramble bush hanging over the fence, and a budleja that I think started as a weed. i don't even have grass
but every morning without fail i hear bird song. i've learnt we have goldfinches in the area, because i hear them every morning. Today i heard a blue tit nearby for the first time. there's house martins that i can see flying some evenings.
it's nice. Sometimes in a city you forget that nature really is still there with you
