In a shocking twist of events, Simon trips and eats it in spectacular fashion a couple feet away from Clint. He props himself up on chubby arms, looking down at the traitorous ground and then up at Clint like he’s expecting commiseration.

Toddlers especially #threenagers love to feel in control and I’ve seen how Beth thrives on routine. She loves doing certain things in the exact same ways every day and when they are done differently, she gets upset. In fact, when she is tired and the routine gets messed up, I can almost guarantee she will have a meltdown. I’ve learnt that if we need to do things differently, we have to give her ample of heads up and break it down for her so she knows what to expect or the reasons why we are doing things differently. Learning this has helped us to minimise her frustration and meltdowns. If you have a toddler with big emotions too, this has been a great help for us. . My next learning area has been around how to correct her speech when she feels overwhelmed. Once she gets irritated or angry, or even embarrassed, she has taken to a habit of saying (calling other people) “naughty”. This has been met with lots of confusion from others, and when it’s directed at us, has only made us more angry. We have seriously needed to practice patience and to extend our calm, while still trying to correct and discipline where needed. I don’t even know where she picked this up from because we do not use this word on her, and we have been constantly trying to correct her when she says she is being naughty. Just thinking about the use of this word around us lately irks me. If you have any suggestions on how to get rid of using this word, or how to introduce another immediate coping mechanism, please DM me🙏🏼 Whoever said babies are easier to handle probably has not reached toddlerhood LOL. Does it get any easier? What would it be like when the teenage years hit?? 🤯🤦🏻♀️😰😅 .
