#thoughts while writing

I can’t just watch things like a normal person. I find something with particularly good writing and it’s my whole personality for about six months. So anyway, welcome to my Link Click Era I guess—

Ah, you fool. I’m a writer. If you deal me a blow, I’ll come back ten times stronger because we are a breed made entirely of spite.

Hot take: spicy scenes should have just as much preamble as a fight scene. I want to know who these characters are and why they are doing what they’re doing. It isn’t even about the slow burn, I just need to care about the characters before watching them go at it.

Romanticize your life. As a writer, you know what makes a moment feel special. Turn on smooth jazz to clean your house on a rainy day and brew coffee. Just thrive in those rose tinted moments because no one can stop you.

I love reading multiple series by the same author because I feel like I learn more about them. For example, this author has had two protags that are awkward and bookish but underestimated with iffy relationships with their fathers. Which makes me think the author *might* share some things with them.

I think Simon is a lot softer, or has the chance to be much softer, than we see in Iron Lung. He just wants to live. He's been jailed for most of his life, absolutely miserable and unloved - why wouldn't he crumble in the face of Grace? Along with his creator saying he'd do exactly that, well...
