Right; I’m just going to assume that Thorold misinterpreted Asriel’s plan

or that he’s leading Marisa on a wild goose chase, because I like to hope that the writers would be able to keep track of a crucial aspect of Asriel’s character that shows just how similar he is to Marisa, which also happened just last season.
