tw; reader turns into a twisted, slightly ooc perhaps, unhealthy coping

when you come back as a twisted, astro completely freezes.

pure terror fills him, the way your red eyes lock onto him and the way the ichor stains your hands and face. you're simply a shadow of what you once were.

if it wasn't for everyone around him having lower stealth, you probably would have torn him to shreds.

he wouldn't have blamed you.

he can't accept it, and each night as everyone has their dreams, he's forced to watch you in their dreams. those you were closest to.

he never gets to dream. never of you. and it haunts him, how he can't even have the pleasure of seeing you each time he rests his eyes.

he's quick to snatch up your stuff from your room, a blanket or plushie or even your pillow taking place on his bed. he refuses to accept, refuses to go back on runs, he can't look at you without feeling pure fear and sadness.

for sprout, it's pure guilt and self hatred.

knowing he could have healed you, he could have protected you, and yet he failed to do the one thing he thought he was best at.

his overprotective nature is much worse towards others now, and it's suffocating being around him on runs.

blaming himself for any injuries, the thought of your turning drives him insane, to the point where they refuse to bring him along on runs.

from then on, he shuts himself into your room whenever he isn't obsessively baking, your room the only way he could relax at night.

whatever he makes isnt as perfectly done as before, either too sweet or salty, burnt or raw, his baking begins failing him.

everyone can tell how shelly's heart breaks once you don't make it to the elevator, the smile she put on her face to reassure those that didn't pay her much mind slipping and revealing the numbness that ran through her.

she shuts herself away from everyone, your room becoming her room on that first night.

no one sees her much after that night, the door locked permanently, but everyone can hear her sobbing at night over you.

if she ever does leave your room, whether to gather books and documents from her own room or to sneak some food away, everyone notices her.

the numbness in her spreading quickly, a void in her chest where her heart should be as she mourned the loss of the one who never forgot her, never got tired of her.

denial is all that dandy feels once the elevator shuts and his shop pops up.

denial, denial, denial, you're simply hiding from him now !

normally you're there with tapes for him, actually wanting to chat with him unlike the others. you enjoyed his presence and he enjoyed yours, the sweet banter and the way you made him feel like he was alive once more.

so where were you?

he refuses to accept your turning, yet he knows, deep down, that you arent going to be returning.

and when he does accept it?

he stops appearing.

no one sees him anymore.

just a wilting flower that can't feel anything as weeks go by, unable to process that you're gone and refusing to let go of you.
