It had been at least half an hour since either of them had spoken. The silence between them had long since settled into something comfortable as Louis watched the tree line blur past outside his window.

A song was playing softly through the speakers, gradually picking up in intensity, something vaguely familiar from Lestat's latest playlist. Louis disliked it immediately. He leaned forward and tapped the screen to skip.

Almost before he could finish the thought, Lestat's hand shot out and smacked his away.

"Driver's choice," he muttered, never taking his eyes off the road. Had he been looking, the glare Louis leveled at him would have made any reasonable man fear for his life, shrink back in fear and pray for mercy. Fortunately for Lestat, he was neither looking nor reasonable.
