Easiest and best way so far that I've made thick cut bacon: coated some @nueskes with a skid mark of @horsesoldierbourbon barrel aged maple syrup on one side and lots of fresh, coarse ground black pepper. Bake at 300F on a rack so it doesnt sit in the fat while it cooks, and flip when it gets golden and brown. Put the syrup skid mark and pepper on the flipped side. Back in the oven until that side looks similar (much shorter time). Then flip on the broiler for 1-2 mins per side to finish. Sticky & sweet. Spicy. Soft interior, crisp exterior. Absurdly delicious.
