Loki scale casting my old friend!
I have to make about 250 of these for my remake of the Dark World pants. Thankfully I’m just casting in thibra (a soft thermoplastic) which is easy, just takes a lot of time. I’m halfway there!
Then I gotta trim the edges (comparison in second pic), paint, and attach to the panels for the pants.

I miss that feeling when you put an entire costume on with makeup all for the first time after working so hard on it. I have Manon done and need to find a fun place to shoot her! This is my Unicorn Knight, based on artwork by Sakizo.
Guild Wars 2 Royal Guard armor (aka my Norn character) Detailing on the breastplate is done except for the stained glass windows, which I'll add later. Everything is single layer worbla or thibra on top of foam or cardboard (cereal boxes). The closure is a combination of magnets and straps. I'm very happy with how seamless it looks. Speaking of seams, the ones on the front and back center will be filled in later when I'm priming/sanding everything. I'm hoping to have this done in time for Fanime in May. Next up - boots.
Arya’s Needle - GoT
This is the tiniest and most challenging sword I have built so far. I wanted to capture all the fine details while using materials that I had on hand. The base of the blade is 1/4” poplar carved and sanded to shape. I covered this with black worbla, then proceeded to sculpt the hilt and pommel from Thibra scraps with a wire core. I used fine sculpting tools and more than 25 hours spent trying to make it as accurate as possible. After that, I primed and sanded the sword, used acrylics and rub n buff to paint it, and stitched leather around the handle. This project was so tedious, but I’m proud of how it turned out!

These were a lot more time consuming than I initially expected compared to other pieces of the costume! It was imperative that every piece was identical so I made one tear drop thingy out of foam and then make Thibra copies! I also decided to have another go with the gold foil and varnished it properly this time! The main engineering point for the jewellery though was putting it on a necklace. It is positioned exactly where the top of the binder is to hide the seam and the pieces are on wire rather than elastic so they stay exactly in place! I’m also messing around with magnets to keep them even better in place but we shall see!
For the bracelet, I know it is lower on his arm in drawings but my wrists are so tiny that any lower and it will look stupid so arm cuff it is! Also these earrings are perfect but I dislike wearing them so this will be fun! I’ll do my normal Cas Gil with 800 earrings on fashion again though.
