SHADOW DANCE This book found me at a local book bag sale. Since I got value from The Dark Side of the Light Chasers by Debbie Ford, I decided to pick this one up when I snagged The Shadow Effect the same day. We are often afraid of our own reality. Every time we disown, discredit, and run from what we really are, our life becomes fear based. In the process, valuable powers in ourselves fail to be acknowledged. Paradoxically, these are the very powers that become resources to us when we face what scares us in ourselves. The consoling paradox is that the more we let go our our ego, the more we hold our desire and fear without being overwhelmed or possessed by them. A wide compassion then emerges and we become our full selves. Our personal work has a transpersonal impact; one small step by a person is one giant leap for humankind. Jung says: “If the individual is not truly regenerated in spirit, society cannot be either, for society is the sum total of individuals in need of redemption...Anyone who has found access to his unconscious automatically exercises an influence on his environment.” To continue denying the shadow is like sanding off the tail side of a coin; it loses it’s value. On the other hand, the shadow is valuable in the same way that coal potentially is: the pressure on it creates a diamond. Any life built around approval from people who do not help us self-activate and co-emerge puts us in danger of being controlled by them. A life that is centered around personal enthusiasms, projects, issues, service, and bliss sets us free to become all that we are. This fulfills our destiny to bring out the best of ourselves and give it to the world. Be the best YOU! ✌Peace & ❤Love . . . . #shadowdance #davidricho #creativity #carljung #theshadoweffect #debbieford #consciousness #selfawareness #mindfulness #meditation #newlifemindset #thebookcave #newlifenewdreams
THE SHADOW EFFECT The sinner has a future and the saint has a past in which their roles are reversed. Forbidden lust and unconditional love are two sides of the same coin. You can’t have a coin without a head and a tail, or an electrical current without a positive and a negative terminal. Like electricity, life has no juice unless one pole sends a current to the other. Once you understand this, the first thing you realize is that to have a shadow is normal. The shadow is the separation impulse. But the divine impulse is the impulse that seeks unity. You have to confront the very parts of yourself that you fear most to find what you have been looking for, because the mechanism that drives you to conceal your darkness is the same mechanism that has you hide your light. What you’ve been hiding from can actually give you what you’ve been trying hard to achieve. We have to uncover, own, and embrace all of who we are- the good and bad, the light and the dark, the selfless and the selfish, and the honest and dishonest parts of our personality. It is our birthright to be whole, to have it all. But to do this, we must be willing to take an honest look at ourselves and step out beyond our judgmental mind. It is here that we will have a life-altering shift in perception, an opening of our heart. The battle with our dark side will never be won through hatred and repression; we can’t fight darkness with darkness. We have to find compassion and embrace the darkness inside us in order to understand it and, ultimately, to transcend it. We have fallen, yes, but we are not without the means to rise back up. In order to do so, however, we must commit to the power that rebuilds our wings. We must be willing to bring our darkness to light and to consciously and willingly surrender it to God, Source, etc. “It’s only when we have the courage to face things exactly as they are without any self-deception or illusion, that a light will develop out of events by which the path to success may be recognized.” - I Ching . . . . #theshadoweffect #deepakchopra #debbieford #mariannewilliamson #higherconsciousness #selfawareness
