I have this unfortunate core memory of a writing teacher saying that no one in the class was a Toni Morrison (which like. Don’t say that to students.) But anyway what I heard was “none of you will ever be the best so don’t even try.” Which I know wasn’t what he meant but man did it hurt. And my fucked up family heritage definitely tells me that, even if it’s a fucked up thought.

Is playing your childhood games again actually healing my inner child? And I’m not immature or going to get in trouble for reaching for things that give me joy? What??? You mean I don’t have to punish myself by sitting on the outside watching others have fun, I can also have fun and not be a poser???? Whatttttt
