I have to say, watching this show is like watching a slow, controlled train wreck

#evillive #even in the slower scenes you feel the sense of impending doom and of inevitability #the foreshadowing...#it reminds me a little of mikey and nicky. also the sweet smell of success. taxi driver maybe #not to compare it to beyond evil because they're different shows. but what i loved most in be was the writing #the non-linearity and the way every episode is built like a jigsaw puzzle giving you some pieces of the plot little by little #and the acting of course. the way the same acting can be interpreted differently according to how much plot knowledge you have #that's just brilliant #compared to that evillive is more linear but the linearity is so heavy with dread. they're on this path and nothing can change it!!#and the acting is still solid and very precise #with shin ha kyun you can guess exactly where his character is mentally in every goddamn scene. well done that man #i like seo do young's actor too. his character may look a little flat at a first glance but then it's not really like that #you have the contrast subdued threat vs batshit insane violence vs routine controlled violence #you have the ''lazy and bored beast playing with his prey'' vibes #you have the manipulation the sugar daddy storyline and the blind spots #you have the deliberate and purposeful silence vs deliberate and purposeful sharing of information #then you have the mirror reflection to han dong soo #so i think he's very interesting as well he's not just a big towering figure on the screen #also you have three characters with two characters representing the two possible paths a character can take as in beyond evil #beyond evil: han juwon has to choose between lee dognsik and his father #evillive: han dong soo has to choose between seo do young and the detective #(i love the detective by the way. i think he'll die because dong soo already made the choice #but the opportunity is right there!! represented by this man!! who would also be kind to him i feel. the tragedy of this poor guy)#something here about. the uncertainty and nonlinearity as a source of trauma and dread in beyond evil #vs the certainty and linearity as a source of dread in evillive #different narratives different strategies same effective writing #yeah i think i will finish this show this weekend. i Must know if i'm right
