When I was 15, I got my first job. My dad immediately told me that half of my pay went to him/rent. I had to contribute. I contributed half or more while I lived at home and it taught me a lot. It taught me that helping family is always good. It showed me that living at home wasn’t free, that it’s expensive (all kids should learn this). If I didn’t help my dad, then he was covering all of my expenses and I didn’t like that. Oh, and I also always gave tithes to the church (I wanted) so that was 10% after taxes. It taught me that money goes very quickly so use it wisely & budget. Life isn’t free and it shouldn’t be a free ride, life should be loaded with lessons and a heart of thankfulness. Today, I still learn so much from the lessons my dad taught that teen: helping is never bad. #thankspapi https://www.instagram.com/p/BxdB_sRleoeiVTxA7sjmddJvxpvBK6UQ6RIqN00/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=dlcplsjd7vh6
