Thereâs been Transformers mecha aus and like. Imagine Overlord in them.
Like- in the series he got introduced in, he was a mech. Two humans, Mega and Giga, piloted him.
I imagine in a mecha au Overlord would be one of those mechs that are too big/strong for one user, so he needs two people (who are in sync) to pilot him.
I woke up in the middle of the night, made this, and passed out again
SHES GORGEOUS 10/10 Design no notes.
Mega and Gigatron
Mega was a gladiator in the pits, one of the best who won nearly every fight... Except for ones against Megatron.
Meanwhile, Gigatron was born on the second moon of Cybertron. Later he moved to the planet proper to try and become one of the first warframe mnemosurgeons under the tutelage of Trepan.
He always watched both Mega and Megatron in the booths, admiring both of them, especially Megatronâs writings, as a warframe who didnât want to fight. Donât get him wrong, he loves bloodshed, but he prefers to be a voyeur rather than a participant. He always paid for special meetings with both Mega and Megatron.
When the war broke out, Mega joined the Decepticons to get closer to Megatron while Gigatron joined the Decepticons because of the philosophy. Even though he didnât finish his training, Gigatron was important for the war efforts being at least familiar with mnemosurgery, all the while Mega could be labelled as just a skilful grunt.
One solar cycle, Megatron decided on a program that would inject chosen mecha with Ununtrium. Mega and Gigatron were both too physically weak for the process, but Megatron gave out the idea that they could be turned into a combiner. Finally shown a way to be one being in a more literal than metaphorical way, they agreed instantly, become a combiner.
And when Mega and Gigatron combine, they form-
âMegatron?â
âNO, ITâS OVERLORD!!!â
When Megaâs 50% sadism mixes with Gigatronâs 50% sadism, they form the 100% certified sadist Overlord!!
Everybody (Except Megatron, Shockwave, Rossum, and later on Tarn and Thunderhowl) thinks that Overlord is just one mech. One sadistic, full-of-himself mech that compliments and praises himself at any and all opportunities. In actuality, whenever Overlord compliments himself, its Mega and/or Gigatron praising each other. All the love for himself is love for the other.
Mega is obssessed with Megatron because of her defeats while Gigatron is obsessed with Megatron for her writings, making Overlord kind of confusing. He knows Megatronâs writings on the back of his servo like Tarn, but always talks about his desire to defeat then kill Megatron.
At first Megatron thought that having Gigatron, a relatively loyal mech, be one half of Overlord would make the combiner less Megatron-murder-hungry, but instead it just made a mech that wants to kill Megatron while also reciting her work, so Megatron asks Shockwave to put an Achilles virus on Gigatron specifically. Because of how dangerous it is to preform mnemosurgery on oneself and Megaâs denial to do anything that could risk Gigatronâs personality, they created a barrier to prevent Overlord from harming Megatron.
After Megatron left to chase after Optimus Prime on the Nemesis 40 years ago, Overlordâs been hanging around Tarn and Strika, fighting against Elita-1 and the rest of the Autobots that didnât leave on the Arc with Optimus.

Have some Super God Masterforce screenshots!
Man, I wanna be their third.
It's nice to get to see more of Phoenix's personality. He's been the least present of the four Pretenders.
I think this was from Overlord's first actual appearance in the show.
I just love that they have the little rain guy hanging from their umbrella.
I found this an interesting sentiment from Overlord. It does make me wonder about a more direct translation from this scene?
Metalhawk can be a real good big brother/surrogate father figure! đ Look at the way Minerva is hugging him and he has a hand on her to reassure her!
Honestly, Nick Roche giving Overlord the most kissable lips is really just following the spirit of the original.
This is perhaps one of the most terrifying images of Overlord to exist. (And there's BlackZarak.)
Character breakdown; Overlord
Character Breakdown:
How I feel about this character: I love his mocking attitude in IDW, but I also love how serious and commanding he is in Super God Masterforce. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it, but I'd start with the Headmasters cartoon since it came first.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Himself. I'm a fan of the Masterforce iteration where he's a duocon made up of a husband and wife team. He gives me Garnet vibes but as an evil human combiner duo trying to help an evil orb take over the planet. I even made designs for their individual transtectors in mech form once, which I'll probably redo at some point on my art blog. If that's something you're interested in, just give me a holler.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: I don't think he has many friends since he's an asshole and all his close connections were cut off for a mirad of reasons, but in my AU he was friends with Double Punch while they were in the gladiatorial arena in Kaon together. They were both top champions for a long while.
My unpopular opinion about this character: He should be two people more often. I think it adds an interesting element to his character, and I would be interested in seeing him be revealed to be a combiner duo later on after being introduced to his character. It would explain a lot of things about him, like why he was so hard to beat, and why he's such a mysterious powerhouse to others.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wanted to see more of his gladiator days. It's supposedly where he got his hatred for failure in IDW1, because Megatron kicked his ass and he's had a fear of losing ever since. I think seeing what kind of a person he was before Megatron would give a better sense of how he changed over time. We know he was forged on Luna 2, but other than that, what was his function? What job did he have? How did he end up in the arena? I have a whole backstory written for him if anyone's interested.
I've been a little obsessed with Mega and Giga of Super God Masterforce lately and, at one point, I was asked about them in relation to Overlord in my humanformers... So here's a colored sketch of them with little baby Ozzie/Overlord!
Megumi (Mega) and Gouki Lourd! Gouki (Giga) Lourd is a Japanese-British man who is a former gladiator that rose in power and popularity before being able to transfer into the military and rose to high rank. Megumi is a Japanese woman that moved to England and is a scientist/engineer. They met when she was working on a military commission and fell in love very quickly. They got it to work. However, when they wanted to become parents, they learned that they were infertile.
One day, while Megumi was at a cafe, she met a young pregnant woman who had fallen on hard times. They came to an agreement, Megumi and Gouki would help her financially and they would adopt her child. When the time came, the mother was allowed to name the baby boy before signing over custody to the couple. That was Osmund. The two gave the child tons of love and as many opportunities and the child flourished, eventually being tested as a Point One Percenter. He received an incredibly high score. He grew and grew and they were proud of him every step of the way.
Megumi actually did a lot of the work for Ozzie/Overlord's armor and weaponry.
(They aren't going to have an active role in the story, but this illustrates Overlord's early history with, I think, a bit of insight to why he thinks he is the best.)
