“Do you have siblings?” Thundercracker asks.  “No,” Ultra Magnus says. “Should I consider myself lucky?” Thundercracker opens his mouth to answer, then closes it, biting his lip and frowning. “It’s complicated,” he finally settles on. “You’d die for them, but sometimes it feels like you’ll end up killing each other first.”

“Thundercracker?”  There’s a soft knock on the door of a washracks- or at least Thundercracker thinks Ultra Magnus was attempting to be soft, the knock rattles the very walls.  “What?” Thundercracker snaps. It comes out harsher than he means it to, but he needs at least another two hours in the washracks before he feels like himself again and there is not enough room in here for the both of them.  There’s a pause. “Are you alright?”  “Fine,” Thundercracker hisses, finally rubbing the dried blood off his shoulder, taking some of the paint with it. The energon coagulated from the wound has a slightly off coloring… it should be fine. He just takes extra care to clean the gunk out.  “Oh, good.” Ultra Magnus’ voice comes out oddly strained. “Because we have a problem.”
