hmmm that’s a lot of questions! Ok, let’s see if I can pull it off! :)

30 Uncommon Character Development Questions ( send me a number )

What position does your character sleep in? ( i.e; stomach, side, back, etc. ) Describe why they do this – optional. Zack has been known to sleep mostly on his back and occasionally on his side.

Does your character have any noteworthy features? Freckles? Dimples? A scar somewhere unusual? etc.He has deep blue eyes, and his hair is thick and wavy/curly. He does get freckles sometimes, especially when he’s outside a lot.

Does your character have an accent? What does it sound like?Zack has a normal Northwest American accent.

Do they have any verbal tics? Do they have trouble pronouncing certain words or getting their thoughts across clearly?Not really no.

What are their chief tension areas? Zack becomes tense when a) people ask about his parents, b) people start noticing his powers when he’s not being Tesla Kid, c) lives are in danger/depending on him for protection, d) when his enemies decide to fight him head on, e) when he’s hiding or following a suspect

If you were to pick one song – and only one song – to describe your character, what would it be and why? The Sound, by Switchfoot because it talks about static electricity, which is one of Zack’s super powers. It also talks about “the sound of discontented mouths” which reminds me of his fight to protect people from the main villains in the story.

How does your character perceive themselves? Positive? Negative? Neutral?Positive. He’s right, he is usually positive, always looking for a silver lining.

Are they a quick thinker or do they need time to sort through their thoughts?Zack usually is able to think on his feet.

Does your character dream or are their nights filled with an empty blackness? Describe a dream they’ve had or a night they couldn’t sleep and what they did to preoccupy their time.Yes, he does have dreams. I’ve yet to write a dream sequence for him, but the dreams that keep him awake at night usually involve his family, school, and crime fighting. He has been caught sneaking food from the kitchen in the middle of the night, as well as reading, listening to music, or choosing to sleep on the couch.

If they had a choice, would they prefer a subway or a bus for public transportation?He would more likely choose the bus.

What do they think of creation? Do they believe in evolution or do they believe in God? What is their religion like?He loves creation. It’s beautiful and full of lots of things to learn about. It leaves him in awe. Zack is a creationist and he believes in God. He goes to church, strives to have a few minutes of prayer, quiet time, and time reading his Bible every day. He prays for his family all the time. Some days he misses his quiet time, but the scripture he’s memorized comes to mind a lot throughout his days.

Describe 5 unusual characteristics your muse has.He has super powers. He has a talent for acrobatics. He takes martial arts training. He studies science to further understand his abilities and those of his siblings. He is overly curious.

Have they ever been so overwhelmed they had to stop and take a break from something?Yes.

Are they a team player or do they prefer to be solo?He works well on a team, as he is used to working with his siblings. He sometimes wants to go solo though.

Can they multi-task or must they focus on one subject at a time?It’s kind of a case by case thing. Usually he chooses to focus on one thing at a time.

What are their best school subjects? What are their worst? List five of each.Best: Science, Sports, Music, Maps, Math. Worst: Language Arts, Home Ec, Woodworking, Drama, Foreign Language Studies.

Is your character an introvert or an extrovert? How do they handle big crowds of people? He can start out quiet, but once he opens up he can talk your leg off. You have been warned.

Are they a leader, do they prefer to follow, or would they rather just stay on the sidelines altogether?Zack is used to being the follower, being the youngest sibling. However, he is building up his leadership skills. He is fully capable of stepping up to the plate if he needs to. He can also become like a shadow.

If your character was suddenly challenged, would they rather run away or stay and fight? If he were completely cornered, he would fight. He would also try to outsmart his opponent, and find an escape route. Very few people have seen him go all out, since it is a last resort. However he’s not someone you want to push to the limit, because when he goes, he goes “nova”. He’s also not one to give up easily.

If your character was allowed to murder one person without any consequences, who would that person be and why? Nope. There is not a murderous bone in the boy’s body. There are a few villainous types he’d like to see in jail, however.

Your character has been granted 3 wishes; what would they wish for and why?a. his parents safe returnb. the evil science facility to be shut down foreverc. the bounty hunters to go to jail

Does your character trust people right off the bat or does it take them some time to warm up to someone?It depends on the person, but he is often extremely trusting. He’s not gullible per-say, but he has been known to blindly follow new acquaintances around.

Do they prefer romance or affection? What is the quickest way to your character’s heart?He is 13 years old. His focus is on school, martial arts training, saving the world, and protecting his family. To win his heart, don’t betray his trust, feed him, and spend time with him. Be his best friend, and the shoulder he can lean on. Have his back. Be someone his age he can talk to about stuff. That’s all I have. To sum it up: longsuffering, kindness, fun, and tasty food.

Does your character have any enemies? If so, who and why? Yes. Eddie is the main one. He is a bounty hunter hired to hunt people with super powers. Zack and his family are some of the many targets.

Do they have any weird bedroom habits? Any unusual kinks?Zack has been known to use his powers in his sleep. He also talks in his sleep, sleep walks, and sleep fights, (he’s woken up with bruises from kicking the walls). His room is often messy. He falls asleep reading books or listening to his iPod. Also if you tell him his room stinks, he’s notorious for spraying axe deodorant to cover the smell.

How does your character prepare for bed? Do they sleep at all or can they stay awake for days on end without trouble?Typical bedtime routine. Pajamas, brush teeth, wash face, go to sleep. He will often read, do homework, or listen to music to help him wind down. As a growing boy he needs his sleep.

If your character had one thing to say to their parents before they died, what would it be?Ohhh nooooo not this question!!!! Aahhhh

Are they afraid of death? Do they have any regrets?I don’t think Zack is afraid of being dead, he’s just not too keen on being killed. His regrets would be, being forced to leave the world before his job (protecting ppl he cares about) is done, and not being able to find his parents.

Does your character get restless when things are too quiet or do they favor solitude and silence? Why?He enjoys being busy and active. Sometimes it’s nice to have peace and quiet, and time to have his thoughts to himself.
