I had just a terrible terrible dream today...
I was down in New Orleans and it was around dusk I think. I peeled off the group of people I had traveled there with, which seems to be a lot easier to do in my dreams than in real life. I walked into a store which had many harpsichords in it, cute little ones, it was really beautiful. I was chewing gum, but it was tar-like; you know! like when you get to the very very last bit of some Double Bubble and it just feels like you’re chewing sticky clay.
The owner greeted me and I noticed someone of great resemblance to her but older, she was partly behind the counter and a piano, she was hooked up to some manner of life-support perhaps. The woman had a sort of horror movie, old lady hysteria which entranced her when I passed, but that seemed normal for the retailer as she was calmed down.
There was a group of girls in the store aswell, a few were being quite rambunctious for being in a harpsichord store while another seemed upset. When I sat in front of this absurdly small keyboard (it should be said that I can’t play any sort of key instrument, I don't know why I dreamt this store), carved out of jade in a Victorian fashion, perhaps two or three octaves on it (ridiculous), the upset girl said hi and whispered into my ear. She was just asking if I could find her any pot. I let her know I had some back at the place I was staying and whenever her and her friends wanted to leave I could walk with them and give it to them. She was appreciative but it was quite obvious they had no intentions of hanging around me. My gum was very hard.Â
I felt the gum start to stick to my teeth and I had the most unsettling looseness in my mouth. When I pulled my jaw open to keep chewing one of my teeth came loose and I spit it into my hand with a little blood but I couldn’t get the gum out. Another came out as I struggled to organize my mouth and the vacating teeth were coming from further and further back. Eventually I had a front bottom tooth, a couple of canines and two molars in my hand. Pulling out a molars was the most unsettling by far and I started to become hysterical. I ran to a tiny restroom. It was an extremely small room in plan though seemed to reach upward forever, like a cavern extending into the depths of a mountain. I felt the need to clean the teeth in my hysteria, shaky hands, crying a bit. Finally, pulling on the gum I removed a wisdom tooth which I felt rattling in the back of my skull. I broke down in a crashing wave of tears and the girl burst into the restroom; seeing me she became kind and caring and though shocked, assured me everything was going to be fine. I just needed to hold on to my teeth, and after we got the pot we could take care of my mouth.
I have teeth dreams a lot.
