Good evening craftaholics 🌹🦋 . Sooo, it's been up at a very uncomfortable 32/33'c here today (it's currently 29'c) and so I took advantage of the heat and did a batch of tea staining! . Also thanks to a couple of tips from other Junk Journalers, I got some awesome coloured papers out of it as well 😍 . Testing to dye with instant coffee and black tea.
Coffee dye: - 1 liter water - 1,5 tbs table salt - 8 espresso instant tubes = 14,4g
Boil water with salt, take away from heat.
Mix in the coffee, let sit for 15 min.
Wet the fabric, wring it out and put it in the dye - Leave in for at least 1h.
Take out the fabric and wash until the water runs clear.
Wring it out and hang up to dry.
Black tea dye: - 2,7 liter water - 2,5 tbs table salt - 10 tea bags of black coffee
Boil water with salt, take away from heat.
Cut away the strings on the teabags and put them in the water - Leave for 25 min.
Take out the teabags.
Wet the fabric, wring it out and put it in the dye - Leave in for at least 1h.
Take out the fabric and wash until the water runs clear.
Wring it out and hang up to dry.
(All dyes can be saved and reused).
