The jerk didn't even TELL ME I was a vessel for universe - eviscerating fire powers, which lead to his evil ex or WHATEVER to force my buddy to awaken it in me, which hurt like a BITCH and took me over for, like, days!" She's ranting, forgive her. She's not even actually that mad anymore — there's just nobody else who understands. NOW THAT SHE HAS A NEW BESTIE WHO MIGHT, well, y'know how it is. WORD VOM. "Luckily I had this really cool friend who's also a fire guy who helped me figure out how to control it, and my bestie MK is cool and I've got a support system and all that, but, like — worse way to find out you've got evil fire powers in you, y'know!"

Wait. Actually.

     "Well, well, well~. And here I thought t'day was gonna be boring."

     Base raiding. Blitzing one of Eggman's many robotic repair stations was one of the many chores Sonic and his friends had to do in order to keep the number of Badniks in production from becoming unmanageable. But after so many self-sufficient storerooms stormed through, these speedruns in particular had the same consistency of yesterday's chewing gum to the hedgehog. If the Eggman himself wasn't yammering at him for breaking his toys, there wasn't much that ignited that combative spirit the speedster bolstered so proudly. The robots didn't even react to his quips! Talk about a stone-cold crowd.

     However, an ear twitched to an extra presence now known. The body flitters in a blue whip of wind, leg extended and ready to whirl around into the clattering metal foot soldiers under Eggman's employ.

     ...Only for one Rouge the Bat to make herself known. After all, he never would have found out she was here in the first place if it wasn't what she intended.

     "Long time no see, tea leaf! So, am I crashin' your party? Or are you crashin' mine?" —A beat. "...Eh, it doesn't matter. So long as one of us is makin' the doctor's life that little bit harder, I couldn't care less about who got here first." A snicker, his grin as bright as always.

   "Excuse m--"    

     Watching with an incredulous expression (at least, incredulous by his stoic standards), Shadow stares as a very sharp piece of glass is shoved into his hands; he doesn't even have any time to protest before Rouge uses it to laquer her lips back to their signature mauve colour.

"Huh? Oh, this is nothing, I'm okay!" Blaze is at her side, attentive in a way that nobody else ever is, and Amy feels a little — just a little! — flustered. A hand rises to press to her cheeks as if to hide the heat there. What a weird reaction! She supposes she's just not used to anyone focusing on her this much. It's only a few bruises! "Getting a little beat up sorta comes with the territory of fighting with a hammer, y'know!"

Amy can tell by the pain that there's a dark stain blooming across their mouth, against their lip — a little split, not bad. It'll heal in a matter of days, and Amy's strong enough to take it. Hard battles leave bruises sometimes, and that's okay! Blaze knows that, and they can tell there's no condescension or pitying past the concern, the way there is, sometimes, from people who don't understand how it works. Still, there's — something. Blaze breathes out a breath of concern, pretty eyes lingering on the bruise that comes so close to their mouth, and for a moment her eyes look like they're lingering on her mouth, and that has her cheeks heating further for reasons Amy can't articulate, let alone right now.
