I have now read ACOMAF three times and am about halfway through it on audio book. Â I forget how many different things you can pick up on when listening to a book versus reading it yourself. Â
I had quite a few thoughts on Tamlin and Rhys this time around that mainly center on the events that took place while everyone was Under the Mountain. Â In book one, I was okay with Tamlin being with Feyre. Â I didnât hardcore ship them, but I understood why Feyre might fall in love with him. Â What I never could understand, even that first time around, was his lack of action Under the Mountain. Â Yes, he had all of his power taken away, that was clear. Â But he would have had to of known that there was a 99.9% chance that Feyre was going to be killed by Amarantha, regardless of whether or not she would have completed the trials or figured out the riddle. Â So why didnât he help her in any way?
Rhys, whore of Amarantha and character with the most to lose, did all that he could to help her. Â Yes, he had a feeling that she was his mate, BUT he didnât know her, not really. Â Tamlin did know her and did love her. Â And yet he did NOTHING. Â Looking back now, I am so disgusted that he just tried to fuck her instead of trying to get her out that one night. Â What a freaking idiot. Â I just canât figure out why he never tried.
And poor Rhys.  Not only is this special girl in Amaranthaâs clutches, but to watch Tamlin, his sworn enemy and the male that currently had a claim to her NOT DO ANYTHINGâŚ.it must have killed him.  Like if Rhys hadnât already wanted to kill him because of what he did to his family, I think this would have put him over the edge.  Even so, because they had been feuding..man. Rhys must have felt so good putting that Illyrian ink of Feyre.  Thatâs why I canât understand why there are still people out there that favor Tamlin.  I 100% believe that people are entitled to their own opinions but in what fucking world does Tamlin deserve Feyre?  Uh, none. Even when Rhys was being portrayed as a smug prick that did Amaranthaâs bidding, he was doing 100% more to support Feyre under the mountain than Tamlin.
(This whole time I had been writing I had forgotten why I had actually wanted to write this---just remembered, lol). FOR EXAMPLEâthe music. Â The music the Rhys sent her. Â Such a simple little thing. Â No one would have known. Â He knew she was going to break and was the only person to do something about it. Tamlin could have EASILY done something like that. Â Anything. Anything at all. Â And he didnât. Â There was no way that he couldnât have found one moment away from Amarantha to help the woman that he loved. Just like he couldnât even look at her when they were all in the same room. Â Like Amarantha didnât already fucking know what she meant to him. Â It really disgusts me, really.
I guess there really wasnât a point to this post. I just felt the need to further confirm Tamlinâs tool-ness and Rhysâs magnificence.
