I was talking to @spookyscaryscully and thought I'd let anyone following me know how my sweet kitty is doing!
We have a separate 'safe' room to put him into when we can't watch him/are sleeping, but when I can I have him with me in my room.
He tends to just sleep on my bed, but he seems much happier because he's at least with someone. He's very social, so he misses people and his brothers
We've got another week to go before the sutures are removed and we know if his eyes/corneas have healed. Here's some pics of what his eyes look like 'open'
He looks like a soothsayer from a horror film! Mainly because you're seeing his 2nd or 3rd eyelid, the other closed so the eyes beneath should hopefully heal.
The vet said most of the time this works and I'm thinking it better, because I'd hate to have put him through 2 weeks of this only to learn he's going to lose his eyes anyway.
I tried to look up the surgery to see if other people have gone through this, what happened with them, etc - but when I typed in the search on Google all I got were university notes for vets. 😐
...also if you just type 'cat eye surgery' you just get info on people who get plastic surgery to get the cat eye look permanently...the f*CK????
Anyway, another long week ahead, but hopefully at the end good news.
I've already had a lot of wonderful people donate to his GoFundMe, but if you're still interested or would like to pass on the link!: https://gofund.me/c860891a
