Jest is another ringmaster like Caine. In the actual game that is the Digital Circus, Jest was meant to be a special event character with her own circus map. Her storyline would be that she was a rabbit NPC that lost her memory. Once the players collected the other four pieces of her magician costume around the circus, they'd restore her memories and unlock her map.

But one day she randomly activated. Caine, fearful that the denizens would never want to switch back to his map and never go on his adventures again, took it upon himself to do something about her.

Because she's another ringmaster, Caine can't get rid of her. But, since she's not in her "restored" state, he can still manipulate her model. So, he passed her off as Jax and Pomni's child and just hoped that Jest would never recover her memories.

Just in case, though, he kept the last part of her costume - her cape - hidden away.

As an amnesiac ringmaster in another ringmaster's map, Jest herself doesn't fully realize how much power she actually has and potentially could have. As long as she's in Caine's map she'll never be as strong as him, but she still has some powers.

She can create small NPCs as well as simple objects. Teleport around maps and make small alterations. She also has a small problem of clipping through maps after Caine changed her model but most of the time that's a benefit.

As far as she knows, she is actually Jax and Pomni's child since she has no reason to believe that Caine would deliberately lie to her.

The reason why Caine gave her long sleeves is so that no one knows that it's her snapping her fingers when things happen.

The idea for her story came from Sarcastic Chorus' video "Caine Did Nothing Wrong" where he talked about the idea of the Digital Circus having multiple servers with multiple ringmasters.
