Sofia’s Glutathione Soap with Kojic and Collagen
If there is one thing most Filipinas would love to achieve aside from a gorgeous hair is having a flawless fair skin. Ever since I was a child and up to now when I already have my own, the demand of whitening products does not seem to cease. If you visit international brands, most of their best sellers are whitening products. If you’ll look at the trend of local commodity, most of our soaps are formulated for whitening and from almost all the possible ingredients that we can make use of. Mind you, most of the products that I have sworn by and recommend countless times, are locally made just like this next product that I’m about to review.
I learned this product of SVR Infinity while I was watching Live. Love. LOLz of New Media Factory last year. I was really intrigue when bloggers started to rave about it. I am seeing reviews stating that they have seen results in as early as a day. Since I was a new mom at that time, I wanted to get rid sana of the dark areas of my body because of pregnancy. But I was breastfeeding and most whitening products are not “that” recommended with breastfeeding moms so I did not purchase it at that time.

Thanks to Sample Room PH, I got to get my hands on my very own Sofia’s Glutathione Soap. But before we head on to the results of my sample, let us first take some time to appreciate the packaging. I don’t know but, I can really feel how special this soap is by just looking at its packaging. It looks like a giveaway from an event and it looks like it is made with tenderness, love and care. I have to say, it feels amazing while unwrapping this soap.
So for my sample I divided the soap into two and I shared it with my husband. I just wanted to see if it really works or not. Here’s my experience...
The soap’s packaging is really something special. It is available in The Generics Pharmacy, Zalora, their website and their distributors. It comes in two sizes: the budget size which is 65 grams and the regular size which is 135 grams. They are retailed at PHP 65 and PHP 100 respectively.
I also like the scent of the soap. It has a hint of Vanilla which is not too overwhelming for my nose. I have Allergic Rhinitis by the way so I am very particular with scents and I still breastfeed so I really read the ingredients first. This one contains, for me, milder ingredients than most whitening soaps out in the market. In my opinion, I was surprised that it is only PHP 100 considering the positive feedback of the consumers. It is affordable and available locally in several resellers to choose from.
I also like that it does not melt easily compared to most soaps made locally. It only takes a swipe or two to get that rich soft lather that you will enjoy scrubbing on your skin. Sometimes I do get a sting on my face and other parts of my body like my neck and other delicate parts. I also experience a bit of tenderness around my nipple. And I hope that they work on the moisturizing effects because my skin is a bit dry but not totally.
I do feel like sometimes my face is tight and I have experienced micro-peeling on my face. It is good because I know that it is working however, since I do not wear sunscreen inside the house, I sometimes look dry. BUT! I learned from my husband that my sister-in-law said that I look fresher now. I am less oily and my acne scars and the redness on my face reduced. As for my body, I didn’t have any photos to share since I did not see any noticeable change with my skin color and skin tone.
Here’s the unfiltered photo taken on the day my sister-in-law and I last saw each other. Take note I am only wearing SebaMed Clear Face Coloured Pimple Cream. It is tinted but sheer so it is almost my natural skin color and skin tone.
On Sample Room I rated this 4 out 5 because I am satisfied with the results I have seen on my face. However, I believe it will take me some time to see results on my body. Yes I did experience micro-peeling and drying of skin so I put enough moisturizer to avoid irritations and itching due to dry skin. Overall, that’s the only con that I found the rest are common experiences with whitening soaps. I am impressed because it only took me 2 weeks to see the improvements on my face.
Will I repurchase? Hmm. Maybe not but, my husband, he likes it. He even wants me to buy him another bar. Let us see if we will both see any improvements on his skin. If ever there will be changes, I will update this review next time.
