My life gets pretty boring
I waste so many mornings
The “Wow what a beautiful day to do stuff outside! Not a cloud in the sky!” -> “it’s… kinda hot actually 🥵” -> *sunsick migraine* pipeline is so real and I know this but I forgot. I let myself be taken in by the lure of freshly picked apples and an objectively nice day. I even kept my biggest darkest sunglasses on! And yet.
guess who's a bit sunsick

Sun Sick

Amon had been so focused on crafting his weaponry that he didn’t realize how much worse his sunburn-turning-sunsick had become. Not until he felt a wave of illness from overexposure that left him dizzy in its wake did he come to his senses as to how much danger he could be in.
The Elezen splashed some cooling water over his face, and took note of the redness of his skin in the reflection once the surface of the pond settled. This didn’t look good at all.
Taking up his hatchet and his bow, Amon began to walk back towards the coast, staying within the shade the best he could. He remembered distantly that on his way up-stream he’d spotted some plants that looked quite similar to that which he knew made poultices in the alchemy guild. He didn’t have much to work with out there, but finding anything medicinal was better than letting this get worse.
Eventually, retracing his route down the stream, he came upon the plants he sought. Tall, thin, snakey stalks pointed upward, holding within the cool sap that he hoped would ease his burn.
Breaking a piece off, he began to knead down the long leaf with his fingers, pushing a thick, white gel into his palm. This took time – the plant was a lot tougher than it looked! – but eventually, he had a handful of medicinal fluid. This he applied thickly over his face, neck and along his ears – oh did his ears burn!
Upon contact, he felt a cooling sensation on his skin. But even with the medicine-plant applied, Amon knew he’d been exposed to the heavy sunlight for far too long. Dehydration and sun-sickness was taking its toll on him, and with no real shelter, he was struggling at the mercy of the elements.
