It’s noon, and the two of you have been laying around in her room for the majority of the morning, the sun heating the world outside to eighty degrees. She’s sitting at her bed, braiding her hair, and trying to convince you to get up and go outside. After a few minutes of convincing and promises that you don’t expect to be kept you get up and get dressed, borrowing her clothes and realizing you should probably keep some at her place. You walk downtown, hand in hand, sandals clacking on the pavement and sunglasses on heads. A new flower stand is up;  she insists that you take fifteen minutes to smell every-single-one and buys daisies before you leave. Pastel blues and pinks tell you that you’ve reached the beachfront milkshake place where you first met, and you insist on going inside. She orders vanilla and you decide on the same, getting extra sprinkles and whipped cream for both of you. As you step onto the beach, she kisses you, tasting of sugar and happiness. You should do this more often.
