MKAY GUYS, I got a idea! I've got a shot in W2H2 where I'd like to have Sock appear in a few different art styles... I've been fussing over how to handle this shot for YEARS, but recently I thought, 'Why not ask fans to collab with me?'

So here's the deal. Draw this image of Sock in YOUR STYLE, and it might appear in the finished film! It can look however you want, any medium (traditional, digital, paint, sculpture, whatever!), but it has to have the following...

Sock's proportions can be whatever you'd like, but his eyes should stay pretty close to where I've drawn mine

I don't know if I'll need to use all 36 drawings, or even if 36 drawings will be submitted. I'll be sure to tell you guys if those slots fill up. If more than 36 drawings are submitted, I may have to pick some to leave out. Submitting a drawing is not a guarantee that I'll use it in the finished film, but I'd like to use all of them if I can. If there's a technical issue with your submission, I'll let you know how to fix it rather than rejecting it! *Deadline is subject to change and may be pushed back!

With Christmas around the corner and progress steadily approaching the final two chapters of Crown of Exile, I've decided to make the current Patreon demo available to the public for a limited time.

Time start: 21 Dec 2024, 8AM GMT +2

Time end: 22 Dec 2024, 10AM GMT +2

How it works:

During this time, the demo up until Chapter Ten will be made available on the public game page on itch.io. It will be available only to be played in the browser – no downloads will be available, sorry!

You will be unable to use saves from the current public demo so you'll need to restart the game from the beginning. The demo will remain until the end time on 22 December 2024, afterwards, it will be removed and the old demo up to Chapter Eight will return to the game page.

Why are you doing this?

It's been a hot minute since the last public update and a lot has been written since then. Everyone who has followed me on Tumblr and itch.io have been incredibly supportive and without you, a lot of the early chapters wouldn't have made it online. This is a thank-you gift for Christmas and a way for me to gather feedback from the broader public outside my Patreon.

Please keep in mind that I've been working on new chapters, not edits, so nothing new has been added to the earlier chapters. This demo access will allow you to play Chapters Nine and Ten.

None of this would be possible without my incredibly generous Patrons who voted overwhelmingly in favour of allowing public access to the demo for a limited time.

So Patrons already know about this, but I need to make an announcement on here as well. I will be taking so time away for the month of August. One of my family members passed away and I need travel for the funeral, and make sure I can be availible for my family. Because I will be taking some time away, I will not be making Patreon content next month and will be pausing billing. If you are already subscribed all this means, is that you will not be charged for August. While new members can still join in August, I recommend waiting until September so you can get your money's worth.

What does this mean for Tumblr? Not much, to be honest. The public demo will still be releasing on the first as planned, and I will still make my monthly recap post. I just may not be able to give immeadiate replies to things. There are still plenty of asks in the queue that will be going out whie I'm away.

I will probably still be working on the game over the month. I'm just going to be a lot more lenient with my working hours, and only write when I actually feel up to it.

Starting with the good news, since last Devblog I've added around five more characters, areas are finished, and art is almost finished. All thats left at the moment for the demo is to work on the soundtrack, dialogue, UI, and then polish. Speaking of UI here's one of the most noticeable changes!

ROLLERS! Still a work in progress but I think it adds way more personality to the UI and love seeing the numbers roll!

For the bad news. While development for the demo and act 1 is going smooth, its slowing down. Recently got a new job too meaning less time to work on the game, so while development has slowed down progress is still being made! Who's to say when it'll come out but I'd project sometime around the summer of 2026, if not by then I may just release the entire act as a whole and ditch the idea of a demo by making the first act free to play similar to games like Ena Dream BBQ!
