South Africa is plagued by Gender Based Violence (GBV).

The country’s femicide rate is now five times higher than the global average.

This week South Africans have collectively mourned after the rape and murder of a young university student (Uyinene Mrwetyana). Her death resonates throughout South Africa among both womxm and men, largely because of the circumstances. She was raped and murdered in broad daylight going to the post office.

Protests have been initiated across the country in hopes of legislative and attitudinal changes.

I'm sharing this information because it deserves attention, she deserves attention, we as womxm deserve to feel safe.

(I know this isn't studyblr related but as a young South African female this issue has a direct impact on my everyday life.)

Messy desk after a semi-productive day. Actually started the day by doing a load of laundry and changing my bedding, which got me into a good mood.

Took a train into Sandton yesterday because I had an interview. I think it went really well, my interviewer and I hit it off immediately (she's actually an alumnus of my university).

Hey, hope you all had a good start to September 🌿

Thought that I would give you guys a lil peak at my diary/planner.

As you can see, I opted for an undated version this year so I print out a one month calendar for each month. At the beginning of the year (top left picture) I would put that at the beginning of the month, before the daily pages, but it was just alot of unnecessary flipping between pages. Now I prefer to have each week pasted at the top of that week's spread (top right picture).

From the bottom picture you can see that I also tend to section off each month as it passes. This allows me easy access to each month.

What you'll also see is that I use my calendar print out to record my lecture topic(s) for the day. I usually fill it out at the beginning of the month for the entire month. I love this, it allows an easy look at the week and what needs to be reviewed and prepped.

I am having thee absolute worst day 😭😭😭. Found out a recent assessment I wrote had 2 sessions and I only wrote session 1!!!!
