i understand that your url is a play on horatio but I will only ever pronounce it as whore-rationalize
It’s intentional: my url is structurally ambiguous! Let’s get into it:
Here’s the first possible morphological structure:
And here’s the second:
Because of the ambiguity and lack of context, you’re free to interpret it however you like! I choose to assign both meanings at the same time: rationalizing in the manner of Horatio, in one of his sluttier moments.
Structural Ambiguity of the Day
can i just say that a man being denied an attourney because the police transcript implied that he wanted a dog-trained-as-a-lawyer instead of "a lawyer, dog," is fucking ridiculous.
Sometimes I can’t help myself
Husband, being flirty: I was thinking of you in the shower...

What it's like when two lin majors date
Me: *looking at mugs in a store* this one says "Queen of Fucking Everything" ... now does that mean "fucking" is a modifier for "everything" or are they implying that whoever buys this mug is performing the action of fucking on everything?
Boyfriend: *carefully examines mug* You're right. It's structurally ambiguous.
Me: exactly!
Boyfriend: ... draw me a tree for it. *walks away*
New favourite example of structural ambiguity.
“Cheeseburger stabbing”

- someone stabbed someone else over a cheeseburger - someone stabbed someone else with a cheeseburger - someone stabbed a cheeseburger - a cheeseburger stabbed someone - a cheeseburger stabbed another cheeseburger
This hat was in the hospital gift shop, and I want to get it so I can finally put an end to all those awkward meetings in the woods at dawn where the other party tries to break the maddening silence by asking, “So... You out here to find some deer, or...?”
