ππππππ ππππ ππ ππππ πππππ πππππ ππππ, but even in wee hours of morning, when the heavens are still swimming in mauve pinks, orchids & gold, it's still incredibly hot over here in sumeru. the midsummer which falls over them through the gaps of canopies belongs to june, & zandik closes his vermilion eyes in subtle bliss. it's pleasant... to be with her. the heated breeze carries a distinct zest of summerian flora & the distant smell of the desert. salt, sand, & something else which speaks of old sun-baked earth, nothing near those found in natalan.
he inhales it deeply, then exhales. for years he had walked between lush forests & powdery hilltops, yet rarely ever does he actually pause to take everything in anymore. the unethical experiments, forbidden research & excavations... they have all done nothing but dragged him father away from the light & deeper into depravity. no longer is he the young boy who spoke to aranaras in hush whispers or drew creatures with crayons 'pon cavern walls, though for today, just for today, zandik lets himself relax beside her. the midsummer breeze rolls past the lush grass & trees again, making them rustle & sway just above their laying figures.
β hmph... i suppose this isn't all that bad... β fluttering the dark lashes, the scholar once again opens his eyes but instead of looking up at the canopies above or perhaps the rising sun, he glances at none other than harmony ββ his light blue hair spilled over the arm underneath own neckline. β how long are you planning on staying... ? β he asks, yet much like with any gifted scholar, no words zandik ever says come without any underlying intentions.
