The battle for the soul of entertainment is reaching a boiling point. As of late February 2026, Warner Bros. Discovery has agreed with Paramount Skydance on a $11 Billion Deal that would have Paramount acquire the entire company and merge both companies into a large monolith behemoth merger that would not only change the course and entirety of Hollywood,but it would bring a end to the legacy of two of the biggest entertainment giants in Hollywood(Warner Bros. and Paramount).

This isn't just a business deal; it’s a threat to the very foundations of cinema and storytelling. If this merger goes through, we are looking at:

-An Antitrust Disaster: 

A combined Paramount-WBD would control up to 40% of the annual domestic box office. This level of consolidation would kill competition and give one company total power over what we watch and reduce the size of the studios down to 4 major players.

-Higher Prices, Fewer Choices:

Experts and regulators such as the WGA(Writer’s Guild of America)warn that a lack of rivals will lead to higher subscription fees and fewer original projects as the new giant focuses on "safe" franchises to pay off its massive debt.

-Massive Job Losses:

Synergy is just corporate speak for layoffs. Thousands of creative professionals, journalists, and production workers could lose their livelihoods in the name of cost-cutting.

WE CANNOT LET THIS HAPPEN. Hollywood needs two strong, independent powerhouses—not one massive monopoly and we already lost 20th Century Studios to Disney,but we cannot lose both of the biggest movie powerhouses in Hollywood by merging with each other.
