Successful Toon Artist and Cartoon Fanatic

Since today is Independence Day and marking 250 years of the day America declared its independence through the Declaration of Independence adopted by Congress and signed by our founding fathers on July 4th,1776. I decided to do another 4th of July-themed pic,this time MCC Toons-themed with my three cat and dog OC’s,Calvin Cat,Buster Hound,and Pip(Calvin’s sidekick).

So,here is a sketched colored drawing of Calvin,Buster,and Pip celebrating America’s 250th Birthday with a glorious fourth celebration with Calvin Cat dressed as Uncle Sam(with his tail making a 4 to symbolize the 4th of July),Pip dressed as a patriot soldier holding a American flag,and Buster painted himself in stars and stripes with a coat of star and stripes paint.

Since I saw and remembered Cartoon Network aired a 17-hour marathon of Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends on Independence Day 19 years ago called “Red,White,and Bloo” and the marathon’s promos and bumpers that had live-action footage of the show’s characters celebrating the 4th of July, with Bloo wearing a Uncle Sam hat and holding a American flag,celebrating the day America was born by singing American tunes such as the Star Spangled Banner.

So,I decided in honor of America’s 250th Birthday ,I made a special pic featuring Bloo dressed in his red and white attire and holding an American flag celebrating the 250th birthday of our nation.

30 Years Ago,the N64 launched with it’s first title in Japan,it was not only it’s first launch game,but also Mario’s first 3D platformer that soon became one of the greatest and influential games ever made to this day and changed our favorite iconic plumber by bringing him into the 3D environment for the first time with Super Mario 64. This game not only brought Mario in 3D environments and levels for the first time,but it introduced a lot of elements and aspects of 3D gaming that would be used for future Mario installments and further 3D platformers to this day.

This game was the first that really showed how 3D gaming can work with analog controls to control the character through a 360 movement that allowed them to move in any way they could and having a controllable camera that would follow the player, having a interactive title screen before you get into start playing, having now a health bar, and even if the 3D graphics didn’t age well,they’re still looking very good and are still iconic, colorful and had good looking textures.

Instead of just using a few or several levels,it introduced 15 different courses that you can enter through paintings and rather than side-scrolling 2D,they are now a fully generated 3D environment that feels like truely a unique world where you can run,walk,jump,step on enemies,and fight bosses at the top, also,I also love how they made Peach’s Castle as a setting and showed the design and indie of it for the first time and got to interact with most of the Toads and other people in the game. Speaking of the characters,The models are really good, since while they had low polygon graphics, they are very iconic and hilarious to look at, especially Mario himself, and his design in this game is still so iconic to this day.

Also,they gave Mario a a lot of new moves outside of just jumping and running through a 2D scrolling environment, that take advantage of the 3D setting such as long jumping, wall jumping, back jumping, and ground pounding, and the stages are designed around his large moveset, giving them many ways to reach areas and explore. You can also use Peach's castle to practice Mario's new moveset in a safe place.

Also,not to mention the soundtrack is pretty amazing and well-composed,especially the music during the Bowser battles(the one sounding like a heavy metal riff during the first two fights and a ominous gothic choir during the final battle),the fancy violin tune while in Peach’s Castle inside,the happy,bright,and whimsical tune when you end up wearing the wing cap,and the Latin-style samba pop end credits theme is the best musical piece like a nostagic,cinematic recap of the game you just went through and the levels you beaten(complete with Mario and the gang waving goodbye and a shot of the cake celebrating Mario’s victory),complete with Mario telling the people thank you so much for playing his game.

Not to mention,while he first voiced Mario in digital interactive 3D puppet at trade events called Mario in Real-Time (MIRT) and then in Mario Teaches Typing in 1991,I feel Super Mario 64 was the point he finally cemented his role as the former 8-bit,but now 3D plumber with iconic phrases like “Wahoo!”, “So long King Bowser”, "Yippee!", "Let's-a go!",etc),bringing a joyful,bright,and energetic personality to Mario that soon became his true personality and Martinet continued to voice Mario until he finally stepped down in 2023 and let a new actor take his place with “Super Mario Wonder”.

Not only this was one of Mario’s best and most amazing games,but this was truely one of the most revolutionary and groundbreaking video games in history and changed the face of 3D-rendered games forever. Super Mario 64 eventually got a 2004 remaster for the Nintendo DS called Super Mario 64 DS with updated graphics,new levels,and the additions of Luigi,Wario,and Yoshi as playable characters and even inspired a group of brothers,Kevin and Luke Lerdwichagul(who would later go on to found and form a indie animation studio called Glitch Productions in 2017 that produced hits like Meta Runner,Sunset Paradise,The Amazing Digital Circus,The Gaslight District,Knights of Guinevere,and Gameoverse)to create a YouTube web series based around and built around the game,that started off as bloopers before it became a hilarious series of pop culture and internet memes and characters going on random adventures that ran from 2011 to 2025,SMG4.

One of the things I like about the classic seasons of SpongeBob,is they used computer-animated scenes and early 3D graphics as effects such as SpongeBob’s pineapple dancing to Jellyfish Jam,the panning shot of the Fry Cook Collisium,the CGI road where the characters are walking or driving,the shot of Gary exhausted and out of control by hitting the wall during the snail race,SpongeBob pulling a T2 by having his face press against the steel wall of the Krusty Krab,before finally bursting out,Larry running on a CGI boardwalk before diving in and saving a person who is drowning,a CGI field of coral Sandy and SpongeBob are running through from the Alaskan Bull Work Plankton flying through a CGI wormhole to a alternate reality, screaming,and the 3D pixelated sky when Mrs.Puff and SpongeBob are falling off the bridge and into a fruit punch truck in a boat.

Watching the first 4 episodes of A Pup Named Scooby-Doo this morning, here are some Scooby wild takes animated and drawn by Glen Kennedy in the first episode,”A Bicycle Built for Doo”.

I know I drew this for Mother's Day last month,but decided to post it,I wanted to expand more on my Britanny and Clyde series by showing their parents by starting with their mothers first.

Introducing them is Brittany's mother,Beverly Johnson and Clyde's mother,Marian Anderson.

Here how I would describe them:

Beverly Johnson is Brittany's mother,who is a loving and caring mother to her family and while she is more level-headed,hard-working, and resilient than her daughter is and a helicopter parent,she does support Brittany's optimistic nature,adventurous spirit and creativity and always encourages her,even often tending to be stern and fiercely protective of her at times,whenver Brittany oversteps her boundaries.

She matches her daughter's hyper-active, friendly nature but channels it into extreme helicopter parenting,is a master of over-the-top crafting. She is likely the one who feeds Brittany's obsession with sticker collections, rainbows, and colorful decorations,and always apologizes constantly on Brittany's behalf. Beverly always carries a giant purse full of bandages, wet wipes, and apology cards to clean up the aftermath of Brittany's well-meaning trouble. They would often get along at times,breaking into synchronized happy dances or sharing a deep love for cheesy cartoons and romance tropes and views Beverly as a lovely, bright hurricane. Marian is the one who brings the planner, while Beverly brings the glitter and the snacks. She works as a Veterinarian at a animal center hospital.

For her voice choice,I would go with Jennifer Hale,since she did play a lot of mothers/mother figures such as Miss Keane from The Powerpuff Girls,Gladys from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy,Mordecai's Mom from Regular Show(when she debuted in The Thanksgiving Special,right before Katey Segal took over in Season 6,when the creators developed and redesigned her character to explore more on Mordecai and Rigby's home lives in Seasons 6-7),Numbuh 1/Nigel Uno's and Number 4/Wallabee Beatles' mothers in Codename:Kids Next Door,and Tanya,Alice's mom from Go Away Unicorn!(even if it wasn't a great show and gave up after a few episodes on Disney Channel,I do like the cute art style and messages))or Paget Brewster(who played Della Duck from Ducktales(2017).

Marian Anderson is Clyde's mother,who is a no-nonsense,sensible,mature,organized,highly-competent,and the moral anchor of the family . She shares Clyde's love for well-organized and logic,which explains Clyde got his smarts from his mother,much like Beverly,who tends to support Brittany by channeling her protection into support,she is fiercely protective but exhausted,when often dealing with her families eccentrities,resulting in dry,sarcastic remarks. She deeply respects Clyde's maturity. She often treats him like her "little deputy" to help manage his bumbling dad and chaotic little sister, treats Clyde's favorite hobbies—like strict scheduling windows to keep her kids quiet,and works as a English-Math Teacher at a School University.

yes I do,I’ve been watching Dragon Ball,Sailor Moon,Pokemon,and Ranma 1/2.

Last month, I decided to draw a fully colored early Mother's Day pic featuring three of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy's mothers-

Gladys-Billy's mother and Harold's wife, who is often prone to mental breakdowns and her psychological state often triggered to rage-breaking points,mostly due to her son,Billy being friends with Grim and having him live at her home,tends to deal and stuggles with the rest of her family's stupidity,antics,and foolishness. Even if she was terrified of Grim at first,she grew to accept him(through bitterly) as part of her family,even if she still resents Grim a bit and did take him down in a fight before when she got back to get his revenge on him, She went from treating him as a threat to her dimwitted son's safety and fearing about Grim taking his son's life to now almost tolerating him,yet still treating him as a bad influence on Billy(even not being happy about Billy's future when he states he wants to grow up and become much like Grim in one episode) and finding him to be a constant nuisance at her house at times,through she does respect Grim a few times(such as he and Harold(along with Mandy's parents)being impressed when he managed to get Billy and Mandy's solution of sharing a room under control at the end of "The Really Odd Couple",when she allowed Grim to use the bathroom after he solved her crow's feat problem(even if she was angry and annoyed at him at first,it was mostly due to her crows feat problem and later,she only framed Grim when her pet rat was killed by the owl,just to get him out of the house for being a freeloader) in "Mommy Fiercest", and telling him to stay home during Billy's family trip to his grandmother's by refusing to let her scare her grandmother in "A Grim Day".

Out of all the three mothers on the show,I find Gladys to be the most relatable,normal(but flawed), and sympathetic since in spite of her usual fears, unhinged pyschological state, being difficult and having hard to deal with Grim being Billy's best friend and living in her home(since he is indeed The Grim Reaper,but he never did anything to steal Billy's life and was kinda protecting him for danger, keeping him alive and safe, and out of trouble,despite often finding him annoying and stupid and was forced into a life of servitude by him and Mandy after losing a game of limbo,along with the Underworld laws state that he leaves,he would end up violating the contract with him and end up in Underworld Jail), and prone to rage whenever she loses it(along with her eye often twitching), she does deeply care for her family in spite of Billy's stupidity and Harold often causing problems(such as eating Sniffles,the family pet rat and losing his job at Freckle Burger ) and clearly wants the best for them,even if she needs to keep her sanity in check,learn to accept Grim for who he is and understand his situation on why he was stuck being Billy's best friend(along with Mandy), and her son's antics under control(such as Billy acting like Tuxedo Man and often messing up his wedding tuxedo,trying to keep him clean and ready in "The Problem with Billy").

Claire(The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy)-Even,she and her husband,Phil,do love their daughter,Mandy and often spend time with her at times even when Mandy isn't being bossy and controlling over them or giving them demands like when Phil took Mandy to the father and son picnic and mistook Mandy for her son,despite being her daughter(in "Spider's Little Daddy") and she and her husband(and the others) threw a surprise birthday party for Mandy in "Tastes Like Chicken",I do agree why she was so terrified and distant of her daughter since Mandy is a complete control freak who constantly treats her parents like servants(the same way she does to Grim) and forces them to give in to her demands by doing her chores for her and tends to make her daughter happy to spoiling her with money,rare artifacts,and compliments to keep her daughter from unleashing her wrath and fear. Even she admits he and her husband refuse to make eye contact with her and Phil admitted that one time wolves tried to raise her as their own. I feel despite not as prone to anger and paranoia as Gladys,I do agree Claire tries a lot to be a good daughter to Mandy(along with Phil),even if she ends up falling under Mandy's demands and forced to deal with her daughter often pushing them around and often blindly obeying her.

Aunt Sis-Billy's aunt,Harold's older sister,Gladys' aunt-in-law, and Nergal Jr.'s mother. At least unlike the mental unstability and suppressed rage of Gladys and the terrified fear and forced blind obedience of Claire,I feel Aunt Sis is the only mother on the show,who actually seems happy with her life as a mother now after she was first depressed and lacking in kindness,but her marriage with Nergal(who may be a malevolent being from the center of the earth,but is shown to be devoid of companionship), somewhat made her a happy woman and they soon get married,starting a family and even raising a son(Nergal Jr.),being so devoted to her husband and son so fiercely. I feel Sis,unlike Gladys and Claire,who seem to struggle often having to deal with their families,is probably the only mom who seems to have a happy family and is proud of it.

So,here is a pic of all three mothers from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy in the living room of Billy's house,where Billy,Mandy,and Grim and others often hang out in almost every episode,getting along together and talking about stuff. I feel Gladys would probably relate to Claire,since they would share their same old fears(Gladys towards Grim(even he's not as abusive and mean as Mandy and never posed a threat to Billy and the rest of his family),Claire towards her daughter,Mandy),often having to deal with their families,Sis would give Gladys advice is that she needs to learn to let go of her fear and resentment of Grim and accept that her idiot goofball son is alive and safe and Grim did nothing to reap him or take his life,since her husband told him about the laws of the underworld(including the contract on why Grim is bound as Billy and Mandy's servant and he does keep Billy safe and prevent him from getting into trouble,like when he saved him and Mandy from him when they first met him and he returned when he realized how Billy valued his friendship with him,Gladys would give Claire advice on how to not give in Mandy's demands and learn to stand up to her daughter,like how she would deal with Billy on his stupidity and hyperactiveness,and Sis would tell Gladys and Claire that she had no deal marrying Nergal and was happy with her own family,claiming that she does love them with her heart.

Since I’m looking forward to seeing Warner Bros. Pictures’ Animation’s upcoming animated adaptation of one of Suess’ most famous stories,”The Cat In The Hat” later this year. I decided to do a colored redraw of this pic from a new renders post on Twitter.

Remember in the classic DuckTales episode as part of the show’s five-episode pilot,Cold Duck,Webby met and befriended a little penguin,Skittles while she and Mrs. Beakley assist in rescuing Scrooge in a city of intelligent penguins in Antarctica. I feel like I decided to redo the moment in the style of the DuckTales reboot.
