Fabric Stiffener
My mother bought spray bottles of 'Fabric stiffener' (A Glue like liquid) years ago in order to turn a soft fabric into fabric suitable for roller blinds. I decided to take this same concept and see if it would work for the purpose of changing the motion of fabric in a dress. I made a tulle flower kind of object by sewing the fabric it in place. I then sprayed it with the fabric stiffener and waited for it to harder.
The Fabric stayed in place and help its shape (although my sketchbook has now squashed it). the experiment was successful and i will try again with a different fabric to see if i have the same results.
