Easy day, casual wear chillin... I think this post might be relevant to most of us, especially in todays climate of Covid driven work changes.. Most of us have to work from home, if we do have a job and even before then, the advent of casual wear was already a mainstay.. I remember when I finished undergrad and I started my first professional role..my boss at the time gave me a once over in my pink shirt, pink and blue tie, black pants and brown shoes and shook his head.. this was the early 2000's and he told me I would have to buy a conservative suit with a button down shirt and a muted tie or don't come back. That was the uniform of the office. This was at a small investment bank and their clients made of institutional investors and high net worth clients would not take well to flashy rookies. 19 years later, its crazy how the work environment has changed. Guys on wall street and in finance positions in sweats, khaki's, sneakers etc..and this was all pre covid..So, 7 years ago, I made a concerted effort to invest in casual business wear, while not sacrificing my love for classic menswear..I had long moved from a coast that raised me and made me who I was (NY and MD) and was/am living in CA..weather was different.. no more snowmageddons and blistering winters.. but living where I live, where we get the worst weather of all the cities in CA, it does dip pretty low in the winters and gets really hot in the summer..So my winter wear consists of lighter flannels and tweeds.. In this post I am wearing, what I wear most days for now that we have a curfew, the office has been closed back up and I still have video conference calls all day..This forest green flannel Suit Supply Blazer in their Havana model has been my go to for a lot this year and last (used a lot in traveling and its surprisingly durable as I wear it roughly)..the long sleeve polo is from Borrelli has been in my rotation for years now.. soft cotton with hand made button holes, mother of pearl buttons and a beautiful collar..pants are flannel from Corneliani (gray flannel pants are a must in any sartorial minded individuals wardrobe that lives in a cooler environment) and the loafers are from Alfred Sargent..What does your casual work wear look like?
