If there's one bit of sewing advice I can impart to you, dear reader, it's to read your fucking sewing pattern instructions first. Before you even look at your fabric or sizes or whatever, read the damn instructions. Don't even sit at your machine to read them. Read them somewhere else. Just read them. Reading the instructions first can answer so many questions you might have before even starting. This probably sounds like, basic knowledge, but if I had a dollar every time some YouTuber or crafter I watched online just started sewing without looking at the instructions and then they something like "oh idk what to do with these pieces?" or "Hmm this part fits weird and was hard to sew" I bet there's a part in the instructions that can help with that. I'm not saying that all instructions are the same, cause they definitely aren't, but reading them first can really help. Rant over.

Taught Huang Gar kung fu by his parents from the age of six, Chiu opened his own school in the early 1970s. He came to the attention of the Hong Kong film studios, and they came calling. Chiu started working as an actor and stuntman in 1978, and has appeared in over 70 movies since. Some of the big names he's worked with include Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and Stephen Chow.
At the same time, he still oversees his two schools - one in San Francisco, the other in Hong Kong - to ensure that his parents' Kung Fu skills are being passed on to new generations.
