This evening I was meant to be gluing the neck on. But when double checking the @stewmac_guitar truss rod I noticed the welds holding the socket had failed. I already ordered this using ridiculously expensive rush shipping because I want to get the fingerboard on so I do not have time to wait for a replacement. So... I channelled my inner @clickspring1 and did some metal work. I don't always do metalwork but when I do it's because I have absolutely no choice 😁 I drilled a hole the whole way through the socket and rod and then hammered a nail through to pin them together. I even peened and filed the ends so it's completely invisible. I have no idea why I buff sanded a part that will never see the light of day but there you go.
