Apologies but saw on of your comments in the tags of a recent post and wanted to ask: What do you like about Husk and Vox with their potential dynamic?
OH MAN. LIKE. This ship was born for me because I was truly just speculating about Vox and drugs in the 70's and 80's and naturally considering gambling as part of that excess. And Husk with his addictions and Vox just being batshit, especially on drugs, I was like…they gotta gamble together.
And I just reaaaally like the idea of them getting drunk off their asses and making insane ass bets that no other reasonable person would make with either of them. And also fucking about it, because why not.
I don't see it as like….romantic. Just something that becomes comfortable with them and they do the FWB thing for a while, maybe. (Which probably falls off after Alastor gets Husk’s soul, but-)
ALSO LIKE as another take on their dynamic, fucking obsessed and working my way through this series. The author is a GIFT, truly.

I am a complete and total sucker for looney toons little guy / straight man (as in archetype not. not sexuality) who could probably kill him . except the looney toons little guy is actually just a complete and utter menace under all that cutesy getup. Still got that same delusions of grandeur and sadomasochistic streak and still more than happy to go to a strip club and leer. Horrible little freak that both leans into how ridiculous he looks as disarming leverage and turns around demanding whiskey on the rocks before having to climb into the bar chair. I also just want to see roach vox be at home in a casino and playing people left and right.
Oh to see husk light a cigar and roach vox dragging his finger over the edge of his tumbler and going “…oh golly…oh gee willikers… put that out on me…?” while batting cartoony eyelashes causing husk swallowing the cigar and choke to death.
Most of this applies to roach vox / val too i just personally think its funnier with how no bullshit husk is and how vox must have had to really weedle his way in despite having That Personality and looking Like That
