Just a quick reminder to myself (and anyone else) that Vox is not a nice person.
Coming out of the discussion with @beelzebelveder, I realized how how much Vox probably despises Angel. Angel embodies everything Vox hates about himself: beeing openly gay, fluid with gender, lack of control. On top of that, he’s Valentino’s favorite.
Which only makes it worse. Because Vox wouldn’t just resent Angel for that he’d enjoy hurting him for it.

thinking about the fact that there was truly 0 necessary reason whatsoever for vox and val to lure angel into a grungy motel room and tell him he was bought out for the night
everything they intended to do that night couldve just as easily been accomplished by just…bringing him to the studio and cornering him in his dressing room, which angel initially assumed he’d be doing when he got called into work
the only reason why they didn’t was to degrade him and make the whole situation more terrifying for him. we already know based on past comics that val uses traditional prostitution as a punishment for angel instead of just having him make porn or model.
vox telling angel ‘there wasn’t a moment I haven’t been watching’ directly after he got done performing a drag number primarily for husk and then, once he got there, val immediately being like ‘just kidding, someone paid money to have sex with you in a gross motel room so go do it’ for no reason at all is so ridiculously sinister and purposeful.
the fact that they had every opportunity to go about it in any other way and still decided to give angel the impression that he was meeting with a client, and then the client turns out to be vox of all people?? you can’t convince me it wasn’t intentionally meant to psychologically and emotionally fuck with him right after performing at husks casino
To that end, may I propose that:
Vox is fucking effortless at bottoming. Truly, a natural. Anyone who has topped him has had their world rocked, and he himself finds it incredibly physically pleasurable. Despite this, he isn’t really a big fan of it. Sure, it feels fucking great, truly astounding, but he’s so neurotic about how he’s seen & his reputation as a macho 50s TV emperor (not helped by working with two people who aren’t above gossiping & teasing him about it, and possibly throwing him under the bus and publishing it to the gossip rags if it means a ratings boost), that bottoming tends to make him go insane. So he tends to prefer topping, at least aesthetically.
The problem? He sucks at topping. Like, objectively. It feels great for him, but it’s entirely The Vox Show. He isn’t a reciprocal partner when topping, he’s got no technique, foreplay is him tossing a bottle of lube at his partner and saying "have at it, babydoll!", and it is pretty obvious that what he’s getting off the most to is the image of himself as the top. Like, girl, if you didn't have two dicks and built in e-stim, it would be so over for you.

Vox has done some fucked up things this season, but we haven't seen the extent of his depravity until we've seen him alone in a room with Angel Dust. I feel that we're in for a bit of a shock by the time the season's over
so its canon now that vox is collecting twinks like Pokemon?
