The cold was piercing, the wind cutting through the thin layers of his clothing as flakes of snow blinded him when they flew into his eyes. He wasn't even sure how he got here. All he knew was it was freezing, there was no wood nearby to make a fire and he was without his suit.
He'd long since given up trying to find any hope of civilization. He had trudged through the snow for hours and only succeeded in tiring himself out. It was nothing but emptiness and frost here. Eventually, he had settled himself in a divot in the earth under a large rock and just curled in on himself, trying to conserve body heat where he could. It was there he eventually, somehow, feel asleep.
Sometimes, Loki wondered if he did not have a sixth or seventh sense, or if perhaps it was some sort of fate that pulled him in a certain direction, to a certain place or time. There was, at least not that he could see, a reason for him to be out in such bitter cold, yet wanderlust had driven him there. There, where there was nothing.
For a time, the sort-of-god, might-be-alien, could only stare at what he had found tucked away beneath a rock. Curious, he leaned in, checking for signs of life; they were there, but faint, and the body no longer so much as shivered. After several seconds of internal debate regarding the issue of whether he wanted to be morally decent and provide aid or toss the notion of morally decent to the wind and let the man die, he shrugged out of his fur-lined cloak and laid it over Stark before setting about the task of building a shelter around him to block out wind and snowfall. Akin to an igloo, walls of packed snow, and once the shelter had been formed, a fire was lit.
Then there was nothing to do but wait. He took a seat.
