At least one of them is happy. . .
Another thing I liked about S4 is the writers including JB's interest in Cybertron which is something from his bio in the Production Bible. When I read the PB, I immediately added that bit to my Lotus AU.
In my AU, he's always had an interest in Cybertron, but wasn't very open about it because of the amount of shit his family gave him for caring about it. He's happy when Hashtag starts looking into Cybertronian history, but she's not actually interested, she just wanted to confirm what Starscream told her in What Dwells Within.
When the Terrans are confined to GHOST during the course of And So the Cycle Begins Again, JB is the only one to take OP's offer of learning more about Cybertron. This allows him to grow closer to the Autobots, especially OP and Elita.
Live daughter reactions:
Yes my terran/chaos terran ocs are named after rocks and minerals because fuck you those rocks and minerals are pretty.
In my Lotus AU, Robby's coping mechanism of being SPECIAL (a canon part of his characterization) eventually blows up in his face when he humiliates himself while trying to reveal the cyber sleeves to the rest of Witwicky during a community day. It's also the event that leads to Alex and Dot asking Mandroid to remove the sleeves.
Before this, the sleeves were dormant. It's only after slowly regaining power that the emotional connection starts coming back but there's a catch. The sleeves are also top secret to protect the Maltos, but Robby doesn't care about that. He needs to feel SPECIAL in order to cope with all the shit he's been through since moving to Witwicky. None of the other Maltos have any idea what he's planning since he knows they'd stop him.
When he attempts The Big Reveal, he does one of those 'Quintus Prime' speeches like he does in the show when using the sleeve. First time he does it, nothing happens so he tries again and the sleeve blinks once.
Embarrassed, he runs off and has a panic attack so bad that the now faulty emotional hive mind of the sleeves lands the Terrans, Robby, and Mo in a coma for over a week.

Aside from him being alive in S4, the main things that bug me about S4 Mandroid are:
-Him calling Thrash a blockhead. My dude WOULD NOT use that word. He should've called Thrash an imbecile.
-Him opening a space bridge to Cybertron with the intention of going there. His main concern was always Earth's safety so it's makes no fucking sense he'd purposely create a way for more TFs to come to the planet.
Headcanon that Final Form Mandroid's body gives off a lot of heat. That being said, hot weather is a no go for him. If he doesn't cool down he starts having heat stroke symptoms.
If the Chaos Terrans were in S1, the Maltos would've treated them the same way. The main difference would be the CT's origin story would most likely involve humans in some way because the writers wouldn't pass up the opportunity for more non Malto humans being bastards.
