@writersmonth Pride Month Bingo 2026 Prompt: bar
Summary: Law student Stiles has found the perfect quiet place to study – the Silver Shot biker bar. And the hot owner, Chris, is the cherry on top. Especially when the man starts taking care of him.
--
Stiles had found the perfect spot to study in peace – the Silver Shot, a little biker bar in the alley behind the university library. Yes, a biker bar may not be everyone’s definition of a perfect spot for studying, but it worked for him.
Stiles had discovered it by chance, coming out of the library with a stack of books and getting surprised by a very sudden downpour when he was behind the library. He started cursing softly and looked around for the nearest open store or place or whatever.
A bight neon sign claimed Silver Shot above the door and Stiles pushed into the place. He paused for a second, already pretty wet as he stood there and looked into what was clearly a bar and also clearly not his usual scene. Most people wore leather, had full beards and were at least ten years older than him. The clientele turned to look at him when he entered and he immediately felt out of place and like maybe getting soaked in the rain wasn’t the worst thing.
“Catch,” the man behind the bar said and then threw a folded dish-towel at him.
Stiles barely caught it and then looked from the towel to the man. Tall, a dark-gray beard with silver streaks, eyes piercing even in this distance, lines on his face that only made him more attractive and a blue shirt that spanned rather tight over his impressive chest. Stiles just stared at him.
“You’re wet,” the handsome man said, nodding at him. “Looking like a stray cat escaping the rain there. Take the towel, kid. And then take a seat.”
Unable to do anything else, Stiles just nodded and started first patting the books to make sure they didn’t get damaged and then ruffling his own hair. He found a table in the corner and hunkered down. The handsome silver fox came up to him not long after and put a steaming cup of tea down.
“Warms you up from the inside,” he said with a smile. “I’m Chris, the owner.”
“Stiles,” Stiles nodded, knowing it was probably weird to introduce himself. “Thank you.”
Stiles still had the towel over his head and he had the steaming mug of tea in his hands as he opened one of the books and figured he could as well continue studying while waiting for the rain to stop. Time passed more or less without him noticing. He ended up ordering a second cup of tea, then a third. He blinked owlishly up at Chris when the man tapped him on the shoulder.
“C’mon, kid. Closing time,” Chris smiled amused, his eyes sparkling.
He looked from Chris down at the notes he’d made and realized that he had gotten more done here than he had in the entire past week at home and at campus. Nodding quickly, he gathered his stuff, paid for his teas – with a large tip, because the man had been kind to Stiles when Stiles had really needed it and he had not owed Stiles a towel or the thoughtfulness – and headed home.
