Ok but re-watching the sequence for "Don't You Forget (Reprise)" and still loving it but at the same time oddly... It also had me thinking of VikJayce from what I can gather about their LoL lore (or pre-rework lore to be specific)...

A part of me can't help but feel like the political aspects of Arcane get brought up so much (notably in fandom arguments or even the occasional "arcane critical" tag) that it seems like some of the meaningful messages get overshadowed and as much as it's not always a bad thing to debate, I feel like some of said messages should to be talked about more. Even just a tiny bit or something? And that's regardless if some of them were intentional or not, some of them are pretty good and effective.

Like come on: Break the (especially toxic) cycles either yourself or someone before you started? Love is powerful but also nuanced and multifaceted (as we're shown genuine but also twisted examples of it)? Not everything is black and white, especially in regards to conflict or trauma? Hell, as flawed as the "beauty in imperfections" speech can be it's not necessarily a bad message either (at least on paper depending on who you ask)?

Idk maybe I'm a bit naive or something but these are primarily things I feel like clinging onto and help see of the show's positives more. Like I said, the political discussions/critiques aren't always bad per se (I did stumble upon some interesting ones, including one that brings up how Zuan actually gets woobified to the extreme by the fandom which is interesting but I wonder about regarding hindsight). i just wish they weren't always the constant focus the more I think about it.

So upon closer inspection I found that these particular cards all have the Mind Rune on them!! And the other runes being Body, Chaos, and Order huh? Damn! All the ships are endless then as well as them being a trio in some timeline or another!

They're always connected somehow even in TCG form and I love it! Jayce will always fall for Mel and her vice versa, Viktor will always also be important to him no matter how you interpret it, Mel would care about Viktor's well-being the moment Jayce tells her his condition, etc.

But also just seriously the theeeeeming!!! Some two sides, same coin shit going on here:

Ok why did it just NOW dawn on me that "To Ashes And Blood" from Arcane is such a MegOP (ship or non-ship alike) coded song and now I can't unsee it?? Especially their Prime iterations??

Just imagining the lyrics being primarily from Optimus' pov, especially when he finally decided that Megatron needs to be dealt with for good but probably still conflicted deep down knowing him.

Maaaan now I have an urge to re-watch at some point b/c I just love how Prime wrote and handled them (though TF: One arguably still has the more interesting backstory/story imho but that's besides the point)! Hell maybe revisit my Crossover AU idea with the show and Arcane since I was making an edit but wasn't feeling super confident in it and stopped but perhaps I'll take a look at it again at some point and hopefully make more if I have the energy.

Especially since I now can't help but imagine the big S1 fight being in the background of the fight between Jinx and Vi (where the song is used) in the AU but in a slightly different context/reason (it's still like how Megs crossed a severe line nearly killing a close human companion but make it sorta worse by him encouraging Jinx to fire the missile at the Council building and THEN he decides to fire at it himself for good measure once he realizes Optimus would be in there to support Jayce and Viktor for the peace proposal/treaty so he indirectly causes Viktor's (brief) death complete with gloating about it once he noticed and connected the dots like in the show). I could go on but ughhh it'll already drag too long here! 😭

God I love my emotional support morally grey soft-spoken Gentle Madman©️ characters who wanted to help and end human suffering even though their methods are morally questionable and even remove free will, emotions, and thinking!
